Wow...just had a game taken away from me by some stalemate thing. I missed my opponent 2x in a row, then he went long, I went back to close, missed again, clicked pass to save energy and then noticed that, for some arbitrary reason the game had decided to make switching range free. Arbitraryness is no conducive to a strategic game.
Having played for quite a while (since beta) Kongai is a good game concept, but the randomness inherit in percentages and criticals just ruins strategies far too often. I can't count the number of times I've planned out a strategy 2 or 3 turns in advance that would allow me to take advantage of my opponent's weakness then had a random critical ruin it. Last I checked pawns don't have a 10% chance to kill the queen when they're attacked, for good reason.
Level 15 is broken. There's a lag when you hit reset before your guy appears and that means that every time you reset you die instantly to a missile right on top of you before you can move. A lame game with horrible bugs get a low rating in my book.
Gotta say, this is the worst AI in any game I have ever played. Since when is "Run out in front of and sit between them and the enemy" considered following?
Reminds me a lot of Amorphous and is nearly as much fun. The random elements (random powerups, random ghost reveals) kinda takes it down a notch though.
Having played for a while I have a few comments. First, it's not really that great of a game (certainly not up to the level of gemcraft, it's nearest analog). The reasons are simple, too long levels (20 something half length levels would have been much better) the gameplay is repetitive and a lot just doesn't make sense (rocks are weak to fire?) Not a bad game, but not a good one either.
Good game. I didn't find it easy at all, even with hints (they were very subtle, yet still effective, well done on that). Still, awesome pictures and a good game.
Ridiculously easy, perhaps even too easy for a medium badge. There's one easily recognizable way to complete each level, and a few other possible ones. I kept getting null object exceptions (I have the debug player because I develop) which wasn't cool either. 3/5. Good effort, but a little too flawed to do better. Would like to see another game though.
