Great idea - but you need to fix the physics / use a better physics engine. It gives random unpredictable impulses that shouldn't be there. Game would still be extremely difficult, but more fun, if it were less randomized.
DO NOT PLAY this game - 90% of the game is "missing", they've deliberately left it out, unless you go to another site and PAY for it. Kong is NOT a demos website, please submit real games, not "demos".
At the start of the game, take mostly combat bonuses (you can just about do it with magic combat, but normal combat makes it much easier). You have to do a lot of combat even in adventure missions, so if you don't take combat bonuses, you'll just get trashed. It makes the game very boring for a long time (you have nothing to spend your money on, and nothing you can do "because you're too young") if you don't do this.
Poor synchronisation of sound with the gameplay - on a 2-year old computer (should have no problems!) the only way to win the game is to turn the music off. Ruins the game. Perhaps if you remove the special effects it would run properly?
No autosave, and hunt-and-peck / pixel-hunt just to attack. If you're going to REFUSE to allow mouse-control, and insist on keyboard, why not let you walk into enemies to attack? Like every other game does. Yuck.
For the asymmetric map (BUG), the flamethrowers that fire incorrectly from some angles due to asymmetry (BUG), random death due to AI re-aiming gunners incorrectly (BUG), and the tediousness of playing this over and over again fingers crossed hoping that the random luck will mean you don't get an enemy insta-killing 2 of your men, thereby forcing you to restart the ENTIRE level ... I'm giving this game 1/5.
JUMP goes on the RIGHT, SHOOT goes on the LEFT (didn't you ever play any game written in the past 25 years since Mario Bros came out? They're all the same way around, for good reason :) )
If you can't be boethered to write instrucitons for the game on the Kong page, then at least DON'T put fixed-time delays in the tutorial. So boring waiting for it to move on to next piece of info. Each time, "yeah, I get it. I have a mental age greater than 4. I can read, you know. PLEASE just get on with it."
@wyrd42 - thanks for the info on characters refusing to go to next level. My guess with rogue is that it died (can the dragon do an insta-kill to a character with > 400 hitpoints?), but I've only seen characters die before when on low health to start with.
PS ... yes, it IS really annoying to restart the game 20 times to get a badge, and then lose the badge because of bugs in the game. This is the opposite of fun.
SO MANY BUGS ... 1. When you have lots of characters, they "randomly" crash at end of level - they have full hitpoints but just "disappear". 2. On last level, about to win platinum, my Rogue vanished - PERMANENTLY - even though he still had almost fill HP etc. 3. the random-number generator for direction isn't random ... and doesn't do what the instructions claim ("go straight"), e.g. in certain cases it will always go left, I counted examples with 30 times in a row it turned at the same point. ... 1/5 for the bugs. Sorry - fix your bugs, and the game would be fun.
Great game, but please fix your rendering bug, so that we can increase the size of the window without Flash staying fixed size. It's FAR too small on a modern hi-res monitor.
You get to e.g. wave 24, and then one enemy dies BUT YOU AREN'T ALLOWED to pick up the toy (because you're auto-flying). That's enough to make me hate the game. Survival gold is too boring...how many times will I have to play it, bored to death with the VERY slow, long, slow, long, slow, repetition, just hoping it won't randomly kill me again at the last moment? I just can't be bothered. If you're going to include random-death stuff like that, you should at least save the player's progress every 5 waves.
Ruined by the bugs .... e.g. as soon as I get a second gun, the first one stops working entirely. This is basic stuff, makes the game unplayable (yeah, i keep getting a tip "you can use as many guns as you want". Um. No. Only if the author had tested it properly)
To get the badge ----- if you miss - at all - then you lose your ENTIRE multiplier, and effectively it's impossible to get the score you need. So, every time you miss, just restart - unless you already have a score of at least 30,000.
