I *love* it when you have to fill out a web form before you're allowed to play a game. Especially when there's arbitrary rules about spaces, punctuation etc which aren't listed on the screen.
Great. So ... I get to almost the end of the game, and find out its now impossible to win because of a random decision I made 20 minutes ago about which gems to feed. You HAVE to tell the player the evolution charts in advance for a game like this!
HOW TO MAKE LOTS OF CASH: 1. Buy lasers / wave beams, equip all 3 slots. 2. Save up for the biggest ship. 3. Buy frags, equip all 3 slots. 4. ...start the highest level you can where you kill things in 2-4 hits. Put ship in middle of screen. Go away and watch TV or anything that's less boring that playing this game. Come back every 5 minutes - you will have thousands of free cash. Upgrade the frag bombs. Repeat until maxed. 5. Win the game.
5 times in 10 - die because you landed on something invisible you couldnt possibly see before you jumped ..... 3 times in 10 - die because random spikes appear with zero warning ... 1 times in 10 - die because of bugs in the collision detection (fall through solid platforms, etc). 1 time in 10 --- actually get to play the game sensibly. Great idea, ruined by the huge frustration and endless restarts.
Great levels, except 4, 21, and 30 - all of which suck horribly. You can know PRECISELY what to do, but you've got to be pixel perfect, without any way of telling where the "right" pixels are. Needs more testing!
"Watch trailer" ... click ... "this page is coming soon". Hmm. Why bother having a link if you can't be bothered to finish making the page that it links to?
getting a 1000 chain is the most boring thing I've ever done (because the only way to do it is by NOT playing the game - too many enemies that instant-kill before you even see them, so you have to just stop moving, stop upgrading, stop playing, and see if you can finish it before you die of boredom)
Stopped playing on gauntlet 2 - 9 times out of 10 the walljump doesn't fire. Terrible, lazy, control implementation. And the hit-detection is wrong too - sometimes you die without touchign things, usually you DONT die when you should. Lazy. Just lazy.
Why do so many people make platformers where they put more effort into the animation of the character ... than making the idiot jump when you hit jump? Most of my deaths caused by the stupid controls.
I'd have given this 5/5 except for the damn bugs - it often doesnt reset properly, or fires a bomb when you click on a button. Stupid. Needs basic testing!
crashed with two waves to go - enemies stopped moving, and everywhere you moved the mouse, it lights up with green circles that never disappear. FIX THE DAMN BUGS!
@qazzaq123 - Magic had cards requiring a single mana to cast that could destroy ANY enchantment or artifact ... uintil they added this, Magic games were always about who got out the high-powered cards first. Game over. This game is EXACTLY the same
Some nice ideas in this game, but a major problem with the "shield" and "weapon" cards - the whole game is made pointless by those. All you need is a powerful weapon, and the opponent will never win. Ruins the balance.
