Even more luck based than the original - all vestige of skill has been removed. And you still ignored the biggest single bug with multiplayer. Wow. It takes real skill to make a sequel that is worse than the original in every way except for the graphics.
nice game ... until the last level. Hey ... 1980 called! - they want their lazy, badly designed, pixel-perfect timing puzzle back. 1/5 for pointlessly boring timing puzzle.
LEVEL 10 SOLUTION: click somewhere, anywhere, random. If you get sushi on the bottom left of screen, click anywhere else - you will win. Otherwise, restart. WORST DESIGNED LEVEL EVER.
why oh why oh why did you make every unit RANDOMLY walk in the opposite direction to the one you clicked? I have to click AGIAN and AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN to make a unit go from HERE to THERE. So very very very stupid and frustrating.
Most songs: TL;DP .... I got so bored playing most of them, I dropped notes because my brain tuned out. Still passed. Still got the covers. Still got the money. So ... no point trying to do it well, or for perfects. SO BORING!
Huh. All the tactics and strategy from the previous versions have been removed. Why? Why dont enemy tanks shrink any more? Why cant you flee a bubble any more? This is a massive step backwards in core gameplay :(.
Appalling design - smack you in the face with boring lessons, tacked on the side of a game with terrible controls, and generally no idea WTF is going on at any time (and I studied Biology at university level!)
1/5 - because you couldnt be boethered to leave BONUS LOCK in the same state at start of level as it was at end of level, so I lost my hard-earned bonus.
4/5 for the excellent upgrades / achievements ... -2 for bad control system, non-responsive ships, and ships too large for the screen, and ... ships "bounce" 20% across the screen each time they hit anything? just looks ridiculous
I was going to give this 5/5, until I got bit by your stupid decision to have skid-on-land. Level 26 took me 10 minuts instead of 2 becuase of this one terrible design decision.
(the older comments on choice of weapons / ships to make Loki "easier" are still worth reading. But check the "attack modifier" in top right of screen, that is dependent on your ship/weapon combo, and sometimes halves or doubles randomly (another bug, I think?))
HOW TO BEAT LOKI - THE ONLY WAY ......... the only way people ahve beaten Loki is through a bug in the collision detection. This bug means that if you keep moving your mouse really fast around the screen (move 30% of screen in a single flick) you are invincible. Yes, really. The author didn't read how to do collision detection correctly - you have to so swept-volumes, but since they didn't do that, this bug lets you "teleport" through loki's shots. Doh. Once I realised that ... it's not too hard.
It should pause whenever mouse moves off screen - too many times, you die and lose everthing because of this basic missing feature. Keyboard is pratically useless because you make the ship jump 20 pixels per keyboard press, instead of learning how to write better graphics code and do smooth animation. 1/5
