WTF? ... WTFFF? ... Its deleted my game! The continue game is now greyed out! All my badges remain (proving I have actually played the damn game). ... changing my rating: now 1/5 for this buggy piece of ****
rubbish user interface - the click-to-rotate often kicks in when you were instead trying to just move it the 1 pixel it needed to go to be "counted" as being "in position". Very irritating.
If you put something in the right place, it should snap in straight away. That would be a lot more fun.
the flashing invulnerability should NOT disable all collision detection, it should only make collision-with-killer-squares turn off.
You should be able to deliberately sacrifice live(s) in order to keep your multiplier chain going...
Poor clone of a MUCh better original game. I've said it before, will say it again - if you MUST steal someone else's idea, AT LEAST include the core features necessary to make it work as a game. In this case, by ommitting the ability for the player to see what's going to happen when each game starts, yhou just arbitrarily kill them often in less than a tenth of a second for no reason. Stupid, stupid, stupid. Also, several games the controls are reversed from what you'd expect, or don't respond for a delay of hundreds of milliseconds. Why?
Loved the game, but the bugs make it a complete waste of time - e.g. for me DESPITE what it says, repeating levels and geting a higher score HAS NO EFFECT. So, now I'm stuck. Have to restart game from scratch, no way to carry on playing.
If you can't find a good research paper on gesture recognition, then there's an easier way: get the player to hold down one key for "circle" a different one for "rectangle" and a different one for "triangle".
The maths can be tricky to do proper gesture recognition, I know, but ... at the moment, you're making your own game unplayable and pointless waste of time :(.
5 attempts to start game - how the **** are youy supposed to create a character? eventually by clicking randomly all over the screen I eventually got it to start the game. Dumb.
I've seen lots of squarez clones that sucked, and htis seemed just another derivative one, but actually ... I found that the use of different colours and just two directions, forcing you to do a frogger-esque planning of your movement in two separate planes simultaneously made this quite refreshing.
nicde idea, but player needs MUCh more control. Could add more control any of many ways:
- let player choose when to shoot
- let player choose when to rotate
- let player choose powerup
the wave browser is fantastic, and in no way reduces the skill required to win the game.
Anyone who thinks otherwise is confusing "memorising ability" with the concept of "skill".
This is NOT peter's game; memory should have nothing to do with it. This is a game about tactics, placement, etc - and the most important aspect of such games is almost always that increased honesty from the game increases the quality of gameplay.
This is why games nowadays expose the DPS statistic etc - because it makes the game BETTER.
Keep up the good work - keep polishing!
also...
you have ignored all the people who told you about the stupid design mistake in defender where there's no way to tell what paths the enemy are taking other than to deliberately lose a level. Stupid, stupid, stupid.
much better than crappy defender.
I gave it 4/5
then I died because the mouse picking is STILL broken (learn to use a mask and to write a mousehandler!), and it WOULD NOT LET ME place a piece until the enemy had walked past.
So, I just changed it to 2/5
To the author: seriously, if you would just code your game properly, you'd get a lot more popularity for your games!
stopped playing on start of 2nd level because it was already repetitive and boring. Needs something more, like powerups, and get rid of the scrolling - do something more interesting with the novel control method
