Worst mouse-handler I have ever seen in a completed game. Totally destroys the experience - this is complete and utter **** on the coding side - PLEASE learn how to do mouse input, and FIX THE DAMN GAME. Until then: 1/5 for the extremely frustarting experience. Almost unplayable.
Ugh. I was hoping that the first clone of Spore would be much better than spore, not much worse!. Terrible mistakes: 1 - the controls, I went around and around in circles around the target point instead of driving over it. 2 - 1,2,3 keys are upside down, so that when you run over anything OR use an ability, half the controls change. Stupid. 3 - the "allies" mostly ONLY cause harm in this game, because they strengthen your opponent and weaken you. The game would be better without them. 4 - the explosion ability requires you to click an enemy, but clicking is your steering, so to use that ability often kills you in the process, just because of the crappy controls.
The controls suck. There's no good reason why this game requires two hands. To add insult to injury, the mouse press detectin has been implemented incorrectly, so that I have to do a full long click-hold-release cycle to get it to register (can't just do quick clicks).
I really liked this TD clone, because of the art style and the teleporter towers - and the money towers. Those two towers made it fun again. BUT I'm giving this 2/5 instead of 4/5 because of three STUPID bugs: 1. No "restart" button. 2. cancels the selection when you mouseover purchase tower (yes, I lost a boss on level 44 because of that bug stopped me from selling a tower when I had to - and the lost money lost me the game). 3. weird approach to selling that encourages lame juggling and penalises playing the game strategically.
yeah, add some penalty for changing direction.
Also, would be good to have powerups you can pay for based on unused direction changes at end of level - e.g. buy a "quadratic drop off curve" (like gravity) for next level instead of just moving in straight lines - or add some levels where you can move in four directions, but there is a minimum time limit between any pair of successive direction-changes
4/5 for being almost fun. -1 for letting me buy a henchmen who IMMEDIATELY DIED and wasting all my gold - stupid game design. -2 for the moves NOT WORKING a lot of the time (just like in Achilles, LOL). -3 for makign me hutn the screen for tiny tiny pieces of yellow. -4 for being frustrating and stupid and killing me because the buggy controls didnt work. Total: 1/5. Sigh.
Nice idea, absolutely horrible user-interface (stupid drag/drop/overwrite mechanics) makes it more tedious and frustrating than enjoyable. Spent more time fihting the bad UI than solving the trivial puzzles - 2/5
my favourite bit: archers that are off the screen shoot you in survival mode, so that that is is pure luck if you can even possibly win. Also ... I like the way it says on the title screen "A Ben Olding Game". I have never met Ben Olding, but now I know that if I do, I know he's a crap game designer without even having to speak to him.
I'm currentl waiting an average of five to ten minutes for badges to register. WTF? Please could soeone at Kong FIX THEIR DAMN SERVERS (or whatever the problem is).
All saved games vanished over night. I had compelted 2 of the secret levels (with max points) and maxed about 30 other levels.
I am never playing this **** game again. Wther its a screwup by Kong or a bug in the game, its a stupid idea to do persistence this way for long-term games!
1/5. Lots of people WANT to like this game, but there's so much stupid in it that could haev been fixed with just half an hour of playtesting that most I suspect end up hating it. Makign a game like this so heavily luck based, and so LONG to find out whether you're doomed to fail or you have a chance at (randomly) winning is just awful game design. Not letting people make basic core decisions, such as which country they start in, is just lazy game design. I've now played this game about 200 times. It sucks. Avoid.
When the screen gets full, it "drops" some of the keyboard input - this is on a 2ghz dual-core CPU with 2Gb RAM. It's not my computer, it's a too-slow performance game / bad keyboard handling routine. The combos cancel for no apparent reason (you need to add an indicator for when they are about to cancel), and the mobs should go RIGHT to LEFT so that you can start typing before they are on screen. The horses on Hard move so fast that the bad rendering routine can't keep up and you can't see the letters because they're jerking too much. Basically ... nice idea for a game, needs to be implemented with better performance. I suspect that's also the cause of the "glitches" that people keep mentioning. Sigh.
PS: I went to the effort of getting all 3 badges. I took the time to see if there was somethign about the game I was missing. There wasn't. Sorry. And ......................Admins: please stop awarding badges to awful games like this.
Worst game I've played on Kong in a long time. I guess it's true: you can't polish a turd. When will people learn that you CANNOT ignore the most basic part of your game - the control system - and expect people to not care that the game is unplayable? Your movement in this game is limited to a Snake-liek position on a coarse grid, but the items fly around in pixel granularity, making it stupidly difficult to get from A (where you are now) to B (where the item is). Unlike in 99% of known games, you are not allowed just to go there - oh no! the author decided you have to invent a path to move there. Stupid, stupid, stupid.
This game would be awesome if you could see where the platforms and money was more than 0.00001seconds in advance. The radar is total crap. And no restart button? God, I HATE ARMOR GAMES, I'm fed up of being forced to look at their stupid adverts over and over again. Sigh. down-rating for these basic mistakes.
1/5 - this is the WORST GAME EVER on kongregate. I played it once, and now whenever I try to play it again, it runs but refuses to throw out any shapes. This is total ****. Don't upload games that are compeltely and utterly ****ing broken.
Loved it. 5/5. -1 for having no progress bar through level. -1 for having very bad unresponsive controls. -1 for crashing internet explorer when you try to submit a score. Oh dear. Great game, but 2/5 - please fix the controls to "not suck" (can't steer in air, can't jump unless touching ground, but you're practically never touching the ground, can't see what's coming next, can't react instantly anyway because you're always in mid air or falling, etc).
