My flash player has crashed a few times while playing this game. I'm not sure if it was the game itself that did it, or something else. But it's crashed a few times in Firefox.
Capacity is utterly pointless I think. And apparently causes your own units to turn against you when you fully upgrade. So don't even put any points into that, just a waste of charge.
When in doubt, upgrade production. That's my general rule of thumb when upgrades cost production. Capital Investment all the way baby! Once the computer gets to around 1k points, you can stage your comeback and blow him out of the water. After you stabilize the field to your control, continue upgrading production, base, or resistance. Though at that point, it's pretty much moot, you've already got him beat if you just spam full units.
As long as there's a full, fun, game there, I don't care if the creator adds some Premium Content for people who want more. I don't understand why people always complain about Premium Content, it's not like you need it to play the game.
It sucks that the dialogue boxes/panels that tell you want stuff is when you hover over it covers up the button, resulting in a very quick on-off flicker that makes it difficult to select the item. Perhaps make the dialogue boxes pop up further from the mouse?
Dude, just stop releasing games if you are going to make no effort to improve them beyond the previous ones. I played about 4 seconds of the game and noted all the same issues I hated about the previous games.
I will need more than Meilo's word to convince me this hasn't been 'stolen' (more or less). A post on JuiceTin's profile said the game would be released here 45 days after initial release on the other site (by my estimates, that means it will be here Sunday, May 5, 2013). So I am doubting your story. Not saying it isn't true, just saying I'm not believing what you're telling me.
*having really good run* Might actually get there this time... *hits coin magnet upgrade, is out of bullets* NOOOOOOOOOO! *crash, tumble, tumble, stop*
The thing where the islands boost to max pop on capturing would be less of an issue if the way an island looked had ANY effect on how much max population it has. As it is, you just start each level, pause, look at all the islands, and send your troops at whatever has the highest pop (if you start with enough troops to capture it that is). Sometimes the tiny island with only sand on it will have a ridiculously high max population.
For some reason my ingame achievements aren't being tracked at all. I know I've completed some of them, but they don't tick off. Anyone else having this problem?
Earth 1's achievement decription was better as 'Non-Base' units, since Farms and Towers count against the total. 'no more than two Soldier units' suggests no more than 2 actual soldiers, even though you can't have farms or towers either. If it was intended to mean 2 Soldiers, and not count farms/towers, then the achievement is broken. Currently, it should read 'non-base', since every unit except the base (perhaps change base to flag, or Capitol) counts against you.
Obama decided to celebrate Lief Erikson on October 9th? Since when did Obama decide that? That holiday has been around for a long time, it didn't just magically appear in 2012. Other than that... The game is interesting for sure. It's not quite 'there' though. At least for me. Nice try.
> "Obama decided to celebrate Lief Erikson on October 9th?"
We absolutely stand corrected, thank you for taking a moment to say something about this! We had misinterpreted Obama's proclamation:
http://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2012/10/09/presidential-proclamation-leif-erikson-day-2012
...not realizing that the proclamation is part of how every president since Johnson has acknowledged the holiday. The text has now been corrected in the game (may need to clear cache before refresh for the change to appear). Thanks again, a ton.
> "The game is interesting for sure. It's not quite 'there' though. At least for me."
Thanks for including this feedback as well. Sorry to hear that it was not quite to your liking, though if at least we have succeeded in making something 'interesting' we consider that worthwhile in its own way :)
@megapawner It's called false advertising. Tons of MMO's do it, most of them will have some sex-based ad campaign. Remember Evony? That was the worst offender that I can recall. That kind of ad campaign is the sign of a poor game that is seeking to draw in crowds of creepers who will throw money at the game, only to realize they have been mislead. Usually they will be Pay-To-Win type games. Clearly though, you can see that it is effective. Got you here, didn't it? I came from the Kongregate homepage for their promotion, but I've seen the ads you're talking about, recently more provokative than ever (Even claiming an AO rating by ESRB)
@Daemon Did you make sure you incremented your food intake? You need to click the arrows next to the food types to pick what you want to eat. If you aren't sufficiently fed by the option, then the proceed button will not light up.
"Because Kongregate links to each game, we don’t allow removing games through user profiles (broken links make us sad). If you’d like us to remove your game manually, please email us at feedback@kongregate.com." Did you try contacting Kongregate about this yet?
One thing I don't like is needing to replay on all three difficulties to get upgrade points. Completing on higher difficulty should grant the points you'd get for lower difficulty. Other than that, I am enjoying this game pretty well. Nice work on adding some neat twists on the classic Battle Ship game.
Good point Blue, i'll fix that in the next patch. 4/24 - Fixed
