Funny thing; I couldn't figure anything out, so I look at the comments. After seeing panthchesh's comment, now I can't un-see THAT, no matter how hard I try XD
I know this is still a wip, but, are we done after *SPOILER*we fetch the odor herb and shrooms? The only thing left to do is talk to the specter guy on the throne, and he keeps saying "come back later'
You probably should have used 'space', or 'enter', or a mouse click, or virtually anything else other than the 'shift' key; windows keeps asking if I want to turn on sticky keys...
When you get hit, your plane disappears and doesn't respawn and the score keeps going up. You also might want to add in an extra missile every so often to give the player challenge to keep playing. (say, spawn 4 missiles at 2000 pts, 5 at 3500, 6 at 4500, etc.)
Could do with a endless/survival mode where you challenge increasingly difficult opponents on one of the 10 maps chosen at random. Also, it would help a bit if the map you're about to race is shown with a 'click to start' screen so the player can see where their boat is BEFORE the race actually starts. Good game otherwise, if a bit short.
I've got to disagree with most of my fellow commenters here; I found the random congratulatory messages to be a nice touch (if a bit weird at times). Seeing "Good job!" or something 180 times would get pretty meh after a while. But, the way Piefal's done it now, there's always a chance of a 'wth' moment after each puzzle. Guess I'm in the minority with that...
Thanks for the nice comment! I really enjoyed writing the random messages (more than 100 at the moment), and I think they are not too intrusive if some people don't like them :)
A sequel to 'The Quest', I'm guessing? In any case, if you continue this series, would you consider adding different equipment and purchasable spells? As it is now, melee damage you deal scales horribly w/ level, so magic is the way to go. But since Lana can't use offensive spells, I never used her for anything except healing between fights and guarding during fights. And since she had no armor, she always took way more damage from monsters than Andy did.
I would say that it needs highscore table and some sort of difficulty progression. But then, it wouldn't be infinite, now would it? =] Seriously though, the playfield shouldn't be anywhere near this big
Ohhh...I thought I was just too stupid to understand what the clue was telling me; wish i had seen the dev comment about the button being broken an hour ago, heh. Would love to give this another crack once it's fixed, though.
Is it just the one stage? I've killed all the enemy tanks and all I can do now is either drive around aimlessly, or kill myself on the land mines. Speaking of killing myself, on dying, the game doesn't restart. You have to reload the whole game to play again. With some more levels and possibly tank upgrades, you'd have something here.
Heh, since this was named Space Invaders, I was thinking that it was JUST like the original in that you were confined to the bottom of the screen. Wasn't until level 8 or 9 that I realized you can move anywhere on the screen.
