Dang, looks like my comment got eaten. This is a fantastic entry for a first game! It was challenging, but not mindboggling, the graphics are cute, the gameplay smooth, and the soundtrack is amazingly catchy. Excellent work! As Tobi mentioned, the ground physics could use some tightening up, as they are rather slippery. Other than that, though, good work!
Funny, at first I thought this was a parody of Every Day the Same Dream, (found at http://www.molleindustria.org/everydaythesamedream/everydaythesamedream.html). Now I wonder....
No noodlerex, "solucion" is "solution" in Spanish. This came from a Spanish-language website, but like a lot of games made outside the U.S., mixes both English and another language in the game. It was all right, although I couldn't beat it without a walkthrough.
Very good work for your first game! If I may offer a few critiques: A little better graphics. You could use simple graphics if you purposely stylize it in a simple "stickman" style, if you're not good at drawing. Sound effects and a good soundtrack would go a long way to bettering it, and making an automatic reset after dying (i.e. not making us hit the reset button every time) would also help for this style of game. Otherwise, it's a great concept. A very good first entry!
For a Playcrafter game, that was actually not bad. I hope you hone your skills so you can make your own game someday, because clearly you have a lot of promise. Good job!
THANK YOU for save points! Very nice. I wish you had kept the "parchment"-style graphics. These are pretty, but they seem almost TOO slick. For the next version, I would bring back the old graphics, and keep the rest of the upgrades. Very enjoyable otherwise. Well-done.
Agreed with the others. There's hard escape games, and then there's this. No idea what to do, no clues, nothing visible to pick up, and the lone object I could find I can't even identify. The graphics are very good, even with that weird red flashing, and the music is all right, but your gameplay is woefully inadequate.
You know, the game mechanic is a lot like Eversion, without so much creepiness. Which is a compliment, because I really like that mechanic. Love the Zeebarf animation. I thought it looked familiar. Fun and well-done game!
It's a good start, but a couple critiques: Yes, please make the stars disappear once touched. I'd like to see the collision detection tweaked so that the tips of the tree branches don't stop you in your tracks. Finally, I must have found a bug, because my timer started at -237 and kept descending, so I had all the time I wanted.
Maybe a little better music, and putting the timer in a font that's more consistent with the scheme, and you'll have yourself a neat little game. Good start.
Wow...this game was frustrating as all get-out, but still very enjoyable. For it to go from funny to serious like that, though...wow. And then the "secret" being even darker...still, it was a ton of fun. Loved going around and collecting and doing everything! Well-done!
I'm not usually a fan of the "survival" genre, but I really liked this one! I was never quite sure what all the power-ups did, but I liked having them. I was doing pretty well until I lost all my power-ups somehow and was back to a basic attack on level 13. Good job!
If I could change anything, the only thing I would change would be to add a main menu with a bestiary, and maybe a list of descriptions for the power-ups. But that's just a suggestion. It's fine the way it is, too. Good fun!
Hey...I read this webcomic! Wow! How cool is it that it gets a game?
For those who don't understand the storyline, read the original webcomic, at http://gatecrash.juathuur.com/. Also, the webcomic is a sequel to another story, at http://oneway.juathuur.com/1/.
I loved this game when I played it on the original website, and I love it here, too! I hope it gets enough plays to get some badges, because it's just begging to have some attached. Great fun!
