@mob849 (and anyone else in on this argument) Angry Birds was released. Dec. 10, 2009. Now, just for giggles, go find Crush The Castle on here and check it's post date... it's ok, we'll wait... And you KNOW it didn't get posted here first, so... check your facts first, pl0x? As for comparing this game to Crush the Castle? Sure, aside from completely different viewpoint, yeah, it's just like it. In that... ya know... there are castles ... and you have to destroy them... oh hey, all these games are ripping off the original Castles! Yeah, that one from the early 90's from Interplay where you build a castle and... oh wait, not, that would be a stupid comparison. Right? Yeah, stupid comparisons suck... SO CUT IT OUT.
Wow... what on earth did you do to this game? It takes about 5 seconds per hop... I don't think I can stay awake through the first race... it's so slow, I might have to just leave my computer running and hope I win in the morning. 2/5
Random map generation needs some work... I'm stuck in a 4x4 area with 3 "corners" but my students can't fit through them, so we're stuck here until I abort... Not cool, sucky waste of a week.
New bug: My guy starts running left for no apparent reason until I hit the left arrow. Makes the game impossible to get the 4K "frame" badge.. It's true that it performs better in IE though. My "Best so far:" is... blank. So an in-game timer or "frame counter" would be pretty cool...
If the game played smoothly it might be rather fun... sadly the controls are not nearly as responsive as other action games, not sure why, not like the graphics are terribly complex. Would be nice if there were some way to occasionally replenish lives or health. I guess sometimes a game's value can be determined more on it's pedigree than it's play value. Stick a Newgrounds.com sticker on a pile of dogcrap and you've got yourself a winner. 2/5 (+1 for not being as bad as some of those "dress up Justin Beiber games".)
Lots of fun, but rather buggy. Some of the kills suddenly stopped working for some reason. Like the mages teleport. Worked for a while now when I hit 2 nothing happens.
So apparently being on fire for too long will instantly kill you. While it kinda makes sense from a logical/realistic perspective, I kinda figured being on fire was a good thing since it helps you kill everything. >.<
There are some color bugs in the gems. For instance I had a level 2 gem that was purple-orange, but the coloring was distinctly red-orange. Right now I'm looking at a level 3 gem that is a red-cyan, but the coloring on it is red-cyan with a distinct streak of purple down the middle diagonally, making it look, at first glance, like a red-purple-cyan gem. Otherwise, game is great so far. At least with the premium pack. I feel like I bought a decent game. I have mixed feelings about this, but I think I can safely still give it a 5/5.
By the time I got to the end all I could really think of is that this really isn't a "game"... it's more like an interactive Collab exhibition. Displaying different levels of artistic quality in an interesting way. But since there's not actual challenge in any way, it's hard to really define it as a game. Not really complaining, I suppose, but if you were to take this and give it actual challenge (for instance, lives, ability to die, etc.), then it would be a pretty good game. 4/5
Very cool once I actually figured out what was going on, heh. A color-blind option (usually done by using textured greys) would go a long way to making it better. I'm not color-blind, but I have friends who are and I can appreciate the pain this game would cause them. 3/5
How come 4 of the top 5 comments are all fairly negative, but the game still gets a 3.73 avg rating? It's not a very good sniper game. Is all that's required to get a decent rating are stick figures and cool-looking guns? It has some ups, but too many problems (as noted up there). 2/5
Got the badge when I put in the vote, so I think there's something funky with the API. If you didn't get the badge, try voting (or changing your vote if you already had by the time you completed the badge requirements). Might not help, but it seemed to trigger it for me.
Badge fail. But more importantly... what sets this apart from other games of it's sort other than the llama and color-gaining aspect? There's the skill-upgrading piece, which is always nice to have, bother than that... it seems kinda bland. I mean, there's snow and bushes... and... erm... not a lot else. Not much with the variety. Still kinda fun for a short bit, fun to watch the colors emerge. 3/5
