Trade Race: you have to BUY 10k of Production via Trade from other cities. That's net, so if you're selling Production to a city, you'll need to buy enough to have +10k/turn via trade.
In that blatantly obvious manner of "we never ever tell you this", the option to retrain Generals into Envoys is in the Diplomacy menu. Pick a city, select Attack, and one of the options will be to Make Envoy (out of a general).
The Trading Post exchanges are backward: "Turn your Gold into Crystal" = +1,000 Gold -1 Crystal. "Turn your Crystal into Gold" = +1 Crystal -1000 Gold.
Just like before, if you're careful and frugal, you can mine every block, kill every monster and still leave with every single tool you walked in with. There's no need to use TNT or buy anything except the sword. After getting the cash, there were 2? (only saw 2) walking broccoli on the surface. Annoyingly, they walked behind the buildings. Didn't see another "game has ended" message after defeating them, however.
So far, these block types are safe to touch, even in infested areas: Light Stone, Clay, most ores (not Creeper Metal), and smelter-made blocks. Especially handy is the Stone Bricks, since while the supply of Stone is finite, there's still more than I'll ever need (17k+ in inventory right now). Now, if I could just figure out what to do with my 3k+ Steam...
There's 4 types of ore: Copper (teal patches) is mined by anything; Iron (looks like stone, but kind of brownish) is mined by Copper or better; Cobalt (blue diamonds) is mined by Iron or better; Creeper Metal (#4 on a die, in red, found only on the infested side. damages you, too, until mined) is mined by Cobalt or better. Smelt by opening inventory while near a placed Smelter (20 stone).
Potentially the most annoying levels: those where you've "completed" all the challenges, but still haven't figured a way to reach that computer *and then* reach an exit.
Quoting MadEric from 6 months ago: "From Nuublarking on July 4th: open this url in your browser: http://chat.kongregate.com/gamez/0020/4650/live/dailyPuzzle.xml then click the refresh button. then load the game again, that should fix it. thanks to radag for posting this before" Should still work.
On the one hand I'm really pleased to see the note about cookies on the front page... On the other hand, you still need to tell me which site to allow cookies from, else I can't even try playing your game. "Allow all cookies all the time" is a nonstarter.
Things that carry over from one random map to the next, for no explicable reason: everything in inventory, every unit in the back row of the mobile party, cash on hand, and the workers in the alchemist lab. Incidentally, the workers in the alchemist lab also carry over into the next campaign map played.
I guess this is confusing and not explained in the game currently, but here is how it works: if you finish tutorial, you will get a starting team that you will keep in the entire game permanently. And you can also keep all equipment and gold. So if you level up a hero to level 4 in a random map game you can keep the same hero in all other campaign and random map games.
This feature is in my task list.
