Nice game! One suggestion, perhaps some keyboard controls (hotkeys) for menu navigation, like (S)tore, (F)urnace, (B)lacksmith, and so on for the other menus. At the very least, something like Escape or Backspace to go back a menu. It might speed up buying, selling, smelting, etc. Either way, you got 5 stars from me regardless!

Developer response from MaxGreden

That's a great idea, thanks!

So you are the first to complete the test, and the reward for passing is a trip back home to earth. So if the aliens captured the entire population, wouldn't the "reward" actually actually be "Being the only human left on earth"? Sounds pretty lonely! Great game btw.

impossible to solve some of the puzzles without sound. Perhaps be friendlier to the hearing impaired (or those of us without sound turned on)

True, I knew putting a sound only puzzle was a mistake - noted!

The game inflates out of control too much. First off, why does the cost to make a game increase each month? The first small game I made had a base cost of 55k, then a few months later they are charging me 112k to make one at the same level? Why do salaries increase? Employees should have static salaries with wage increases upon training. There's too much in this game that is "out of our control" or isn't explained well, like inflating salaries, unfireable employees, inflating game production costs. Seems like you were attempting to keep the mechanics simple, but by doing so you've crippled any sort of strategy or free choice.

controls are annoying, especially with no buffer around the edge of the playing field. When the mouse goes out of the flash window, your character just stops moving and gets killed. Either pause the game when the mouse leaves the playing field, or put a bigger black space, because it's annoying to die because you lost mouse control.

Collisions are too unforgiving. A rocket should not act like it hit a brick wall when colliding with a blimp.

I've completed the game twice now and still no "game completed" badge, and since the game deletes the "completed" save after you finish the game, there is no easy way to try and trigger the badge again. I refuse to go back through the game a third time. You really should have a better save system.

The last level takes some very advanced logic to complete. At first I thought it wasn't solvable without guessing, but just like most very hard nonograms, you hit a wall for a while searching for the next clue, and once you find it the rest of the puzzle can be filled in easily. Just keep looking for it and you will find it.

around level 2 this game falls victim to the one thing that makes most platform games fail: Long streams of moving platform jumps where one mis-timed jump makes you start over. Frustrating to say the least.

Storyline was good until the end. The last cutscene seemed disjointed from the storyline you built through the game, like it belonged in a different story. Other than that, great game!

good idea but way too many bugs. losing battles even though I had overwhelming odds (I had 0% danger, and added two more people on top of that to fight). After I lost that battle I inspected the damage report and it said 0 survivors lost, 2 rooms lost. That I could deal with. When I got back to my base though, I realized the game had deleted every survivor that was assigned to the lost rooms. It's sad when one bug wipes out so much work. I'm not going to bother playing through this again with these bugs. Zero percent should MEAN zero percent.

This game only has one floor per dungeon, which requires the monsters to scale up with the player each dungeon visit. This kills any sense of progress you might make. There is a reason the dungeon crawler format hasn't changed much in the many years of existence, because it works. Do away with the "1 level per dungeon" and give us the choice of when to advance or when to stay behind and grow. Otherwise the game becomes boring.

great game, but it definitely needs a more robust save routine. I've had to restart twice now from the beginning, and I've never hit the R button. The first time the browser closed while I was playing, erased my progress... The second time, I hit escape to go to the main menu and look for a save. I was able to go back into the game and resume where I left off, so I thought it was saved. Close the browser and come back, and I'm starting over AGAIN. Please tell me you aren't requiring me to finish the game in one playthrough, because I can't for the life of me figure out how to save the game... You should save every so often, or give us a manual method of saving.

Developer response from TimeBlog

Well, you see, I guess that's where I'm a bit confused. The game literally saves as you're playing--if you kill an enemy and it's supposed to save, it saves it as soon as he dies. If you pick up the sword, it saves as soon as you touch it. The game is saving everything dynamically, and it honestly doesn't even work if there's no save file to direct to. These values, like when you go to swing a sword and it sees if you actually have the sword, are based entirely on the save (there's not even a local variable to reference). Which is why I don't really know what to tell you other than that I think it's your browser settings; I've never had an issue with the saving on any site in any browser, and any complaints are things I haven't been able to reproduce because of this :( Also, a manual save wouldn't really work with this, since it would have already saved everything that it needs to save by the time you would try to manually save it.
