@ lesathscorpii - I agree with you. My own comment I made earlier didn't actually get down voted, but it's true. This is just like all the others. Even the song was ripped from one of them. Same basic story, just done by somebody else. It's almost like The Oatmeal's explanation of the twilight series.
I would give it a higher rating than I did, but all of these "art" games are falling into a pattern of telling the same story, but with different game mechanics.
Interesting badge glitch. The "best so far" reported the score for my first game, but not any games after that which had higher scores. Refreshed my browser and played it again and it reported the new, higher score. Tangerines are yummy, BTW.
This is a really good starts. Reminds my of Commando or Ikari Warriors. The only gameplay issue I had was that ammo grabs were on a higher level than the foot soldiers and hides them. FYI, tanks don't use "clips"; each shell is chosen and loaded individually due to the nature of different ammo types and safe ordnance storage. I don't think any gun has used an actual "clip" since WWII. Everything nowadays uses a magazine.
I know, clips of shells don't make a lot of sense, but sometimes for something to work gameplay wise, you have to forget about how it works in the real world. After all, real world is boring. :-) How would you explain a tank whose turret can magically transform between a mortar, a cannon and a machinegun otherwise? Think of it as a crate of shells they have to open up instead, if it helps. :P -Onur
It's interesting, but most of the rotations so far (no, I haven't finished it yet) are just 180 degree rotations at a point where the same pattern is above/below. Also, the mute button works fine for me...
Dear Greg, I clicked on the cracked.com link that you said was pretty funny. You're right, it was funny. Unless you know somebody who has ruined their life with drugs, that is.
Did anybody else keep making the mistake of thinking that the "pawns" at the beginning could only take pieces like pawns in chess? Can't tell you how many times I would lose at the beginning before I finally beat it into my head that they could take a piece by just moving forward...
This is a great game, but the one thing that pisses me off is my own assumption that "back to map" unpauses the game and takes me back to the map I was playing. I've beaten maps twice but had to pause because my phone rang and then clicked "back to map" only to have to start over... Maybe add "World" in front of map?
Something with the badges IS messed up. I already had the easy and medium badge, but decided to go for the hard one. I completed the requirement, and even submitted my score, but didn't get the badge. I'm guessing whatever they did to add the gamestop badge messed it up somewhere... Oh yeah, the game also needs a menu option while paused. Sucks to mess up a placement in the beginning and the only way to go back and fix it is to refresh the browser...
The one thing that seems to be the same throughout this game is that the first thing the worm tells you to do is just about the last thing you need to do.
It's neat, but there is a little clean up I would do. First off, I don't want to "brag my score" after each game. Get rid of that. Maybe add a hint button that shows the highest hand on the board? That could easily be a skill you buy that gives you so many hints per game.
What? Wait? Where the hell is my character? Stuff moves from one side of the board to the other that it is often impossible to tell one character from another.
Rate this down all you want, but having to restart an entire level because the black spider on the black background jumps at you and steals an irreplaceable battery is straight BS. And jumping around in the dark with the same spiders and timed gates is, well, not fun. I probably won't bother going any further on this one. Frustration > Storyline.
I really liked this game until I got to the point where you had to talk to Felix. The timing on the whole blue-yellow-red energy gates was too much of a pain in the ass. If a spider bites you and takes one of your batteries, then what? I can't find any replacements, so does that mean restart?
Oh dear...
