So when you are pointing North/South (bow to the top of the screen. aft to the bottom), what meaning does "shooting up or down" have? When I am moving around, it sucks to shoot 20 or so cannons in the wrong direction... Seriously, it needs to fire starboard (to the right of the relative direction of the ship) or port (to the left of the relative direction of the ship. I never know which way I'm going to shoot unless I am pointing left or right.
Fire up? Fire down? What the hell does that mean? If you're going to make a game about naval combat, at least use naval terms so we know where the hell we're firing (starboard and port, that is).
I am giving this a 5/5, although are a few things that need mentioned. Overall, the game was really good and well executed; no complaints in game play from me. There were some times where the near photo-realistic backgrounds made it hard to play though. Personally, I'm not into the melodrama of popular anime (although I did read about half of it), but to each his own (thank God for the skip button). The idea of destroying a star to change gravitational fields to move something else was taken from the movie Star Trek: Generations (google "star trek ribbon"). And Iblis sounds a lot like the Warhammer chaos god Slaanesh (google "slaanesh"). And I still think if/when the game gets badges, one should be called the "Dropping a Deuce" badge. Overall, kudos to the makers of this game!
Yes, this game should have a feature that allows you to redistribute your skills instead of committing to them. You know, just like real life... The game is fine like it is!!!
One thing I noticed is that all of your ships have the exact same logic. As such, when you place your second ship, always place it next to your first. Since it follows the same logic, it will choose the same path (usually). After you get a "pack" of five or six ships, they pretty much gang up on individual enemies taking them out quickly.
This game would be a lot better if you could jump up through the platforms instead of trying to find a place to squeeze your fat ass between them. Too many times I tried to dodge the laser but couldn't jump up due to that.
