Decent top down shooter. My only gripes are the ones I normally see in games with guns. "Clips" haven't been used in firearms since the 1940's. They are way different than the "magazine" modern weapons use.
Bug Report - I was wearing boots of a certain type and found a couple more pairs of the same. In my inventory it said "1 of 3 equipped". I clicked the junk button thinking it would junk the ones I was not wearing. What happened instead is that it junked all of them, BUT my character was still wearing a pair that did not exist in inventory. I switched to a different pair and the initial boots disappeared. When I sold all junk, it had 2 of the 3 pairs were able to be bought. Can you make the junk button remove only items that are not equipped?
"Kongregate just informed me that even though this game has a good rating, they will REFUSE to feature MusicQuest Pro on the frontpage or give it badges. :( Sad day...." - Probably because the RIAA has been successfully suing people for getting "free" music. No offense, but until the music industry isn't driven by profits, their lawyers will rip into anyone and anything that takes those profits away from them. All you would have to do is add a "convert flv to mp3" button and I'm sure they would be all over you too.
"The Requested Video Can Only Be Played From Youtube" - Yeah, my earlier, downrated comment had asked about this. So I'll say it again, what happens when the copyright people start taking these down (and apparently the one you can't embed too)?
Ok, 2 things... My first quest was to "listen to an artist known for 'soundtrack music'". I played a song that was literally showing the movie it was used in, but no quest complete... Has anybody asked what happens to the songs when youtube (eventually) takes them down for copyright infringement?
Generic storyline? Check! Endless grind game mechanic? Check! Having the only graphics that actually move in the game be damage numbers and cool down timers? Check! Easy money from the guys at Kong that vote 5 on every game they like? Hell Yeah!!! Oh yeah, rating this down doesn't change the 2/5 that I am giving this stinker.
It was ok. There were a couple of things that irked me though. Dialog went from being dark and mysterious in Hood 1 to "super awesome" in Hood 2. Also, you can click all day in the murky water looking for the missing part, but you won't find it until you have already put the first piece into the puzzle. Aside from that, it was good.
You can click in the water all day looking for a part you don't know about, until a character (orange demon) tells you where to look in the swamp and you find it. :\
@Dev - Correct me if I am wrong, but it's impossible to get a gold star on the first board. You need to win in 6 turns to get it. Turn 1: Scandanavia to Ukraine. 2. Ukraine to Kazakhstan 3. Kazakhstan to India and China 4. India & China to Siam 5. Siam to Indonesia 6. Indonesia to New Guinea and Western Australia. It takes a 7th turn to get Eastern Australia which means no gold star.
@ Dev: Weird bug that I have had a couple of times now on the second level. After going down a zip line, the rattling sound it makes keeps playing even after ending the level and starting a new one. Not a game breaker, but the constant sound is a bit annoying. Also, is it Calavera as in Grim Fandango's Manny Calavera?
Should be fixed now in the updated Version 1.03! Mainly used Calavera because it means "skull", so I guess that's why they used it in Grim Fandango too :)
To the Devs - I read your earlier comment about how later stages require grouping up on stronger enemies. That's great, but how about a "goal line defense" button I can press to make sure everyone gets blocked?
It does a search for the video, so if a video gets taken down, it will just find another. Not sure why you got that error, but it's very rare.
