Hmm, see something you missed in the Tutorial, for Pets: "You can also command your pet by clicking the appropriate button in their sadfasdf below." Couldn't think of a name for the pet's window better than "sadfasdf"? ;)
You can make a little brass from daily quests: Cecilia gives you 3 if you bring Baking ingredients, Driscoll gives you 4 for the Decathlon. You can earn chunks of 75 brass each time you do the Admiral's mission during a Stress Test (there is one tomorrow, Thursday, 1-4 Pacific, 4-7 Eastern.) But mainly, yeah... Brass is the "premium" currency that you can buy with real life money (well, Kongregate Kreds, which you buy with real money.)
Getting in to town, and you see the guy in the street... one option is "Attack him with you crowbar"... I think you're missing one of YOUR letters there.
@Devilsminion: You can attack to the upper right and the upper left... at least, I can as an Aero; I haven't played a crag or ferro yet. Hold the up arrow and the right arrow, and you'll aim to the upper right. Can even do it while jetting (though it can be tricky to aim, as you'll also start flying to the upper right.)
Scano, Ore and Composting scraps get used much later; for now, just keep collecting them. When you get into the forest, you'll find the Composter quickly enough, where you can turn the scraps you've been getting into bags of compost. You can't use them to plant until you're farther along in the missions than I've gotten, though.
Oh, for the boss, he just takes a lot of shots. I found it easier the way I did him the first game... wait on the first platform until he goes past, then jump to the right (or rocket if you like) in between the drips from the stalactite critter, go through the green door, and get the rapid laser upgrade. Then it's easy to take out the boss, as you can stand through the doorway where he can't hit you and hose him down with a stream of lasers.
You do actually drop a little bit when rocketing to the side; about a half-block's height over the length of the burst. When I played it through the first time, I got no badges. I reloaded the screen, and played through it again and got the badges. To get past the red blocks, you need to get the missile upgrade (the Down-and-X upgrade that you see on the Instructions/Pause screen.) Explore more.
Same loading problem as MegaDrill had. Same fix too... deleting WakeTheRoyalty.swf from the Temp Internet Files allows it to reload and start properly.
@XxReaperxX: That's just the beginning of the game; it's the kids' imaginative adventure. Once you beat the Dragon, you start the *real* game. (Think of it like a tutorial.)
You have to delete the MegaDrill.swf?... file from your Temporary Internet Files directory to be able to play the game again. Big problem, but that is a workaround if you do want to play it again.
Aaaand... looks like I need to delete that file each time I want to load the page and play the game. (If it helps the developer or anyone, the file I am deleting is MegaDrill.swf?kongregate_game_version=1265849940)
OK, for the loading issue, it looks like you can fix it if you delete the megadrill.swf file from your Temporary Internet Files directory. Clearing all temporary files from the browser menu would do it too, of course, but if you don't want to lose all the other info, this surgical removal seems to fix it. (Or, if you want to be sure, just remove all files that start with the name megadrill from the Temp INet Files.)
