This is a really neat game idea, ruined by inconsistant controls. Its recognition of when I let go of a button is the biggest problem; I never know if he's going to stop on a platform I jumped to, or go blythely running off the end. Setting it to Low Quality (through the right-click menu, for those who can't find it like me at first) helps a little, but not at all entirely.
Ah, I remember spending lots of time playing the full version of this on XGenStudios.com. XGen, please put the full version on Kong; that would be a great game for a variety of badges.
"And if it lags, turn the quality down, really not too difficult." I'm apparently spoiled by other games that give you a keystroke to change the quality; I've been wishing for a way to downgrade the quality, because I've been getting really frustrated with poor response to controls (not jumping when I press the W, continuing to run for several steps after I let go of a key, extra jumps after the intended jump...) I just now happened to right-click and saw the quality options there. Perhaps (*strongly* recommended) there could be a note in the instructions that you can change the Quality by right-click, as this game is obviously very graphics heavy.
My first grader knows that primary colors are the ones you don't get from mixing other colors: Blue, Yellow, and Red. Secondary colors are mixtures of the primaries: Green, Orange, and Purple (or Violet, if you're being technical. First graders know purple.) Tertiary is a mixture of a secondary and a primary, like Vermillion, Teal, and Indigo. Other sets of Primary colors may be used in specific occupations, but in a game aimed at a general audience, I'd think going with the general definition would be the right idea.
The airlock is the "door" of your ship... then there's the connecting tube between your ship and theirs. The locked door you come to is the acess door of the station. You need a key of flame to get through (and every flame needs oxygen...)
Second time I came back to play this game, I was getting the loading screen stuck on 0% too. The workaround is the same as any other flash where this happens; delete the swf file from your temporary internet files. For this game, it's easy to search for: WakeUpTheBox2 should find it, then delete that file. Refresh the page, and it should load successfully.
Killerman02, when you exit a town, there's a wrench icon in the lower right; this brings up the menu where you can save. Yeah, it would be nice to be able to access that in the towns.
Boppyboopy, 7 ninjas would be easy with a rifle, and I take them out with just a katana. Lots of AP is good (especially against them.) I normally start with 10 in Physical Shape and Agility, so I get the most HP and AP possible. Then whatever's left goes into accuracy. Against ninjas, just have to keep moving; it's best if one or two of them reach you, but don't have enough AP left to attack; then you can take a swing at them and then move away. Rinse and repeat.
BlackGreyWhite, what you don't see is that you don't buy them all at $21; and, when they've got zero, and you sell them a whole pile, you don't sell them all at the high price stated.
If you do actually run into a case where you can buy and sell repeatedly and your total cash goes up, then yeah - that is a bug. When I tried that early on, though, I actually ended up losing money over time.
Big help: Achievements increase your score multiplier. So, if you're having trouble, just concentrate on getting some more achievements. Make sure to do everything before you start rolling: mute the sound, read the instructions, view the Achievements page, click the Armor Games logo. I just hit the 200k points and got the challenge; I have 53/80 achievements, which gives me a multiplier of 3.65. That made the 200k a lot easier to make.
Sooo dark. Once I played the piano and dropped into the basement, all I saw were a few points of light, and one point of light that moved as I pressed the keys -- so I assumed that was my eye. The entire basement was a matter of jumping around randomly. Someone said there were intestines or slugs or something in the basement... wish I could have seen them.
Destroyer0203, each chassis has a starting pool of tech points (TP) that it can carry. The Bread Truck, for example, has 8 TP, while Big Red has 6 and the Fairway Express has 5. There are some pieces of equipment that give you TP rather than using it up, like the Bicycle Basket (+1 TP, Attachment slot) or the Roof Rack (+1 TP, Turret slot); you can think of it as giving up a slot to be able to put a larger than normal item in another slot. The number in the top right tells you how many TP the item is; if it's on a bright green background, that means it adds TP (plus, it will say TP Up in the effects box.)
If the zombies are in a bad position for combat (too many too close to you, for example) when you enter the screen, just leave back the way you came, and reenter for a different zombie setup.
I think I missed a lot, because it was sooo dark. It needs some kind of gamma correction, or at least right-click zoom. I could tell at a couple points that it looked like there was some kind of writing on the background, but it was so dark I couldn't make anything out. I managed to make it through the silver chute by just holding the jump button and randomly going left and right. Any hints or anything that weren't in actual dialogue were unreadable by me. I got into the basement (the flute song letters were against a light background, so I could read them) but since all I could see was the light bulb, I couldn't get anywhere.
Pedrolafalc, you can double-jump over that wall the butterfly-spawning crewman was stuck too; it does take a little work, you have to do the second jump at the right time, or else you won't quite have the height. It's one of the closest margins on a double jump I recall in the game.
Also, in that pet Tutorial, "fight along your side" would sound better as either "fight at your side" or "fight alongside you." Xelestial. fromthe HP/EXP tutorial at the first fight: "If your pet dies, there is no way to bring him back." Find another pet, I guess.
