You shouldn't have to select units to use their spells. That's my main complaint thus far. Pretty tight game all in all, and I appreciate that you're not afraid to keep reinventing things as the series progresses.
A couple of tips for survival: The Knightron can be used like a bomb. Drop it through a cluster of ships and watch the fireworks. Also, when things get desperate, there are times when you can be your own best weapon. You stay alive for a couple seconds after your health drops to 0, and if you collect a health pack during that window you're good to go again. Therefore, going kamikaze on a giant crowd of ships CAN be a good way to stay alive. Keep in mind also that while adding more towers makes you a bigger target, it also drastically increases your health and, in turn, makes health packs more effective. That having been said, I'm still working on that "survive for 12 minutes" achievement, and if it ever gets made into a hard badge I'll cuss a blue streak.
Um...I couldn't help but notice, in addition to Princess Stripper, that the more towers you add to your castle the more phallic it looks. More like Fortress Trojan Magnum, amirite? This game is like one giant innuendo.
What's this? A PRINCESS?? I distinctly said I wanted a POLICE OFFICER stripper! You had better fix this right now or you're going to have some very angry bachelor partiers banging on the door of your home office!
Tip: Don't make tips until you're done with the game. Tadpole mode does of course give diamonds WAY faster than, like, anything. Still, if you want that running badge, upgrade the spread.
Tip: Focus your gun upgrades on the spread (great for running mode, where you can probably collect diamonds faster than any other game mode) and the missile (great for all those sawblades in escape mode and murderous against bosses).
Let's see, combo timer doesn't pause when the rest of the game does. Combo timer lapses after 2 seconds. Combo timer doesn't lapse after 10 seconds. Combo timer doesn't lapse but a kill doesn't increase it. Level spawns three enemies at once, then puts a 30-second gap until the next enemy spawns, and somehow I'm supposed to chain a combo across that if I ever want the combo badge. MAKE UP YOUR MIND, GAME.
Ok, what's up with the semi-invincible suicide bombers? Most of them go down in one shot, while others take a full assault rifle clip and still manage to crash into me. It might be a headshot thing, but in that case this game is DEFINITELY having a problem registering headshots because I keep the crosshair right on the suicider's nose and he still won't die.
Good game, but do you want to know one thought that's never ever crossed the mind of someone playing a racing video game? "Wow, I sure am glad I upgraded my brakes."
Earning those combo badges seems to involve a lot of sitting there not shooting enemies while waiting for their buddies to show up, at least in the early levels.
Today's forecast: Chilly, with an 80% chance of freak windstorms that will blow your relatives into locked cages, volcanoes, and the depths of puzzle-ridden caves.
The arena mode seems to be broken. It keeps hanging on the first battle I try to fight, and the "rollover" item statistic bubbles at shops keep hanging around on the screen after I close the shop. The two bugs might be related, actually.
