This is a lot of fun. I do wish there was a way to get some more info on the enemies. Specifically, hit points info prior to the wave coming. Also, when upgrading the towers it'd be nice not to have to move the mouse. For example, you can go from normal to sniper just by clicking, but if you move down for splash or machine gun you have to move back up to upgrade it. Just keep the button where the previous one was if you've only got one option from there. Still a great game, thoug.
OK, finished it after finding a walkthrough on another site. I'm rating this a 3/5, but I'm rounding up from 2.5. There needs to be more puzzle, more clues, and less random roaming. And there's way too much backtracking over the course of the game. That sequence once you get the square pedestal open is just brutal.
And the bathroom -- if you're downstairs by the tub and click on the stairs, you go upstairs to the sink. If you're downstairs by the tub and you click on the curtain covering the window...you go upstairs to the sink. Is this intended?
This would be a lot more fun if there were a little bit of instruction. It's extremely easy to move around the lodge, turning on lights, without solving any puzzle. That said, I'm stuck right now with a diamond key. There's a pedestal with a keyhole, but it's a square one. The diamond one has no hole. Could it be that it let me use the wrong key to open one of the other sections nd now I need an already used square key? Am I just not seeing the key I need? I enjoy puzzles, but it's hard to do a puzzle when it's not evident what needs solving.
I really wanted to like this game, but the bouncing and the inability to replay levels really does knock this down from "fun little game" to "not worth the effort to push the buttons". Fix those two things and this would be a lot of fun, I think.
For those who keep asking about #56 in the Codex -- It's the final ending with the computer. When you complete the game it generates a save point at the computer. I finished with 100% completion and when I reload that save #56 is still unknown. I think #56 is supposed to be what happens when you unlock the "100% completions rewards" at thee computer at this point.
The alternate way to get "Hardy" is from the guy at the bottom left of the map. He speaks in lame rhyming couplets about how tough he is. I believe he says he'll show you the skill if you take damage five times in a row without hitting the ground. Given the fact that you have a short gap of invincibility, I'm not entirely sure how you're supposed to do that. I think you might be able to take a hit, immediately press "x" to avoid being stunned, and land directly back on the enemy and THEN repeat the process four more times. I can only imagine it'd take a lot of trial and error, and since you don't need to get the skill in that manner to get credit for 100%, it makes little since to try it that way instead of paying for it.
It's a little buggy in the online mode. After winning the Winter Series and the first race of the Summer Series, my two opponents both left the game. It then put me in one race, the first, with one of the old opponents and one new one and a car with no upgrades. I came in 2nd in that race, but it gave me the $1000 prize for winning the previous series. Then it started the Sand Series. There needs to be some mechanism for keeping the Championship going if your opponents leave. If everyone leaves once they get behind, no one will be able to finish a championship!
I like it, but I'd like to be able to reset my upgrades or replay a level for more cash. Certain enemies are tougher than others depending on your units and there's no way of knowing what units your enemies are going to use prior to the game.
