My only criticism of the game, is that having to make a choice between being able to jump or use decent magic is a horrible idea. Unless of course the whole concept of the game is to force players to only use lightning the entire time. 3/5 for having potential.
After having completed the last of the achievements, there are only really two things that need to be added to make this game as good as it can be (for what it is).
1) Adjust the code so that when you complete the requirements for an ending, it doesn't play the ending if you complete it again. (Such as when you have to capture Pia for the Enforcers, after you've already captured all of the towns as a Buccaneer.)
2) Have experience count for something with the characters, allowing you to add stats as you go. Otherwise, it's little more than shopping around for "Bargain Bob", so you can fire the last helpless slob who just happens to cost 20gp less despite having the exact same stats.
Aside from that, good game. ;)
This game could be interesting, if it weren't for the game having so many friggin keys that you have to keep up with at one time. 2/5 for now, just for being too steep of a learning curve for a casual game.
Great idea for a game, but the "reward" of being bombed to death is anything but "relaxing". Plus, bombs or no bombs, the game simply gets boring after 5-10 minutes.... 3/5 for now.
While this is undoubtedly a good game to test a beginning programmer's skills, this really isn't a "release worthy" game. There is no real artwork to speak of, no ability to upgrade or otherwise effect the game playing experience, and is completely lacking in creativity. 2/5 for now, with plenty of room to grow.
Great game concept, good interface, cute artwork, but WAY too easy. I actually had to keep pulling my troops back just to not kill the town before I could finish getting all of the upgrades. 3/5 for now.
Great game... but there needs to be a better way to save the game. Having to go through 4-5 intense waves every time you die just to go through the one you were killed on sucks.
This game would be great if it would actually give some information about who it is that needs to be shot. Look for: "a person smoking", or "wearing a hat", or SOMETHING. It's irritating to have to do the level over and over again randomly killing people.
As fun as this game might be, there are three big things that just aren't right.
1) Master/Critical attacks seem to randomly do NO damage.
2) When you upgrade the weapons, there should better low end damage as well... not just a better top end. What's the use of being able do 100 points of damage, when it's far more likely to only do 1-3 points per hit?
And, finally..
3) There is (to the best of my knowledge) NO healing spells. What kind of fantasy RPG doesn't use some form of healing or regeneration?
Great game, all in all.... but there are two things that really get frustrating: 1) The catapult reload time is way too slow, and gets worse with every level of upgrading.. and 2) The archers should be able to shoot farther than just at the base of the wall. After all, the point of archers is to have a RANGED attack.... if you just want something to cover the base of the wall, make boiling oil pourers or something.
