Ok, the winning strategy here is definitely to recruit players who buy stuff with kreds. I was feeling pretty good when I recruited the guy with four times my strength. Then I found the guy with six times my strength, four times my health and who auto-heals for 140% my health total every round.
I'm pretty much to the point where any game in which "gther money before it vanishes" is a significant part of gameplay automatically gets 1/5. Nobody likes this mechanic. It was original in the 80s. So was pac man. But nobody would seriously try to release pac man today. Stop using antiquated mechanics.
Completely annoying that not only does the constant "walk around after getting hit" effect takes time, now opponents are completely dodging my attacks because they wait to adjust themselves until after I choose to attack, and then scoot forward so that I hit the ground behind them.
Combat pacing and camera "looking around" is tedius. It's 15 seconds between starting a fight and getting to actually do anything. Why have a "fight" button that I have to click after we've gone to a site? Why does my avatar move around after getting hit? Why does the camera constantly shift back and forth and zoom in and out all the time? Just do the battle. I don't need to have constant cinematics looking back and forth and zooming and adjusting all the time.
Fun at first, but gets repetitive fast. No real incentive to keep playing after the first 5 minutes. Unlocking more or less the same objectives all over again for three more planets isn't fun. Difficulty scales badly and I routinely find myself suiciding after completing objectives. Annoying that I have to unlock an objective before completing it: for example, several times I did something, then unlocked the objective for doing it after the round I did it. Annoying.
Game feels like it could really use a z-axis manoeuvrable by sliding the mouse forward and back. No point in requiring mouse use otherwise. Also...like others, game locks for me after the training mission.
Change fire button to a keyboard key. I don't care which. Anything other than the mouse button. Make the ship smaller. It takes 6 seconds to clear an object. If a ship drops a mine and you don't get it, you have to wait FOREVER for it to pass, not leavind enough time to destroy the ship, so you have to let that pass too. The bullets are too small to hit things and you end up boxed in, unable to do anything but take hits.
So...did 44 another time, failed again, then found the "skip level" button. So skipped 44, now stuck on 45. *shrug* Guess I'm done. Nice game until it becomes a wall.
Stuck on 44. Did every level up to now either first or second try, this one I've invested probably 20-30 minutes in. Just getting bored feeling like I'm banging my head against a wall trying to break through.
I think I would have preferred this be set up as a multi-generational game with some sort of persistent upgrade system. Others have pointed out it's easy...easy...easy...then BAM hard. Rather than just adding or saving potions, I'd rather you be able to accumulate upgrades of some sort that persist, so each game you play you start out stronger, allowing you to advance further each time.
Even more depressing than the end, is the fact that it DOESN'T end. It implies you that just have to keep going and going, but it never gets better...continually looking at the respawning corpse of your lover as you keep going on....continually being told "keep moving on, here's the corpse for you to dwell on" over and over.
Tough to go back to early 80s style galaga shooters when we've had bullet hell shooters for 15+ years. Author: check out frantic, pixelvader, bullet heaven etc. here on kong. Those are the kind of shooters we're used to, and comparing this to.
Yeah, you are right. Really there were two params - Total days in journey and Days For Win counter. But now i hide one. I think it will be better for understanding.
How are you supposed to take Protopens? I have all three Kogg ships fully upgraded, my AP is maxxed, my damage is 2 short of maxxed...but I go in and lose 1-2 ships before I even get to do anything.
You can cast item before you click fight button and its not consuming ap
