This is unplayably slow. It's like the dev even made it deliberately slow. Game should be like twice as fast by default, then add a speedup button to double that. And what's with the 3/4 second delay between each line of progress report? The game is either broken and needs to be fixed, or is an idle game in disguise.
Ok. Proof of concept. Now, make a sequel using this premise and these graphics to make a platformer with an entertaining story and upgrades, and you'll have a good game.
This really needs more stages, and quests that better track previous actions. From comments I think most of us are beating the game with only half quests completed, and here I am half an hour later grinding episode one gin for boss kills, chests, doors, etc. All things I've long since done.
Yet another mahjong game that has nothing to do with mahjong. Why does this game have a mahjong tag? The game isn't mahjong, it's not related to mahjong, the tiles aren't mahjong titles....nothing here has anything at all to do with mahjong.
I feel like giving the plush tiger to the ghost should be a valid solution. Little girl ghost hanging out with a bunch of toys...she just wants her plushie.
Can beat chieftan every time, but deity is just luck. Too often barbarians show up, you pick the right way to deal with them but no...bad roll and you lose quarter your population and/or half your land. Game over.
Hmm. Playing on deity difficulty, I think keeping threat well below 6% can be beneficial. Yes, it means being less efficient every turn on other things, but when disasters to kill off ~20% of your population in one turn...that happening 2-3 times completely destroys your chance of winning. Might be worth keeping it as low as 3-4%. It makes a difference.
Going to wait for the text scrolling to be removed. Note to all developers: every game that does this, people complain about. Nobody likes it. Stop doing it.
Well, there's a vocal group that doesn't like it, but that's far from everyone. I'd say the moral is that providing options is good. Presentation is a huge part of a game like this and timing, and dramatic pose changes, and yes even the scrolling text is part of that, but we definitely should have had an option for people who want the more bare-bones version, and we'll get it to you guys in a couple days =)
That's the plan. I intend to build something Metroid-ish.
