Is it me, or is the mage class useless? The enemies resist every debuff, the damage spells seem to do less damage than warrior attacks, it can't defend for crap, and has fewer hit points. Where is the balancing factor?
HORRIBLE Game balance. Especially the boss after the shark boss where you essentially have to fight a bajillion minions and NEVER get to shoot at the boss because you're too busy just trying not to die, but you die anyway. Try some better game balance.
Biggest problem of the game is an inability to really control your character's actions once combat is engaged - YOU CAN'T DISENGAGE, which means you can't run away when you're freaking dying.
Use the keyboard to move away from active combat (you'll keep trying to run back in but just keep pressing until combat breaks or someone else gets aggro). Use the 'wait' button to stop your friends from fighting (or chasing).
Controls are very clunky. Game is buggy - frequently movement sticks, G for rescue companion doesn't work. Info on weapons you're trying to purchase would be very appreciated (you get it for weapons you're just picking up, why not ones you're spending cash on?"
Ah. I see the problem - the controls STICK. It retains the command of the last direction you pressed - so on level start, the ship jumps in that direction. When you press to go in a new direction, it halts travel in the direction you were going, and you have to either hold or press again to actually make the ship go where you want it to go. The game has promise, but it's 2/5 until the controls are fixed.
The control scheme is HORRIBLE. Auto-recenter on your unit is a bad idea. It makes it so the player can't control his view, and for an RTS that is a BAD thing. Also, no way to select all units at once, very difficult to make units go to locations near each other.
1/5. With getting hit causing you to be unable to respond, once there are 6+ goblins attacking you simultaneously, who seem to all be able to hit you whenever they want (defending is useless, they just attack while you're swing and still hit), you hit a point where you're completely incapacitated and unable to respond. This game needs a lot of work before it's playable.
BIG problem with the unresponsiveness in movement - the guy frequently won't turn around when you tell him to, and so gets stabbed in the back when you're trying to face the enemy.
