Also, giving a game a low rating simply because you don't like the genre it's in, is NOT a legitimate gripe. You don't like fighting games, DON'T PLAY THEM. Furthermore, you CAN quit after losing and replay your last fight, which might not be as convenient as a save function, but that, in and of itself isn't a reason to mark it as low as some have. Alright, tl;dr over, *gets off the soapbox*
Step your games up, people.
What actually seems odd to me is how many other developers are hating on this game. Some have actually offered constructive criticisms, for which my respect and future good will on ratings will go to. To those of you hating on this game over minor things like the lack of the pause button. (Which is space bar, which you'd know, if you'd bother to play the tutorial, which you'd also know how to block, win a hyper duel, use your specials effectively, etc.)
Too easy? Drop the Slomo. Too hard? Drop the difficulty, too easy, up the difficulty. Don't like the control scheme? Change it. It IS customizable. It's plastered all over the screen when you pause. Hell, look in the options portion. There's nothing I hate more than people criticizing someone in an uninformed manner. It's ignorant.
This game is steeped in arty style, the fighting itself is quite unique, wherein it requires you to actually think ahead in what you plan to do attackwise. The fighting styles and characters are very well balanced and while being a more cerebral fighting game than the average beat 'em up, it still maintained a very frenetic pace for me, with hyper duels and combos flying back and forth. The AI was quite competitive, even though I really never lost a fight, as it only really takes one knock down to really understand what you're facing.
The story, the styling, the unique fighting, the graphics, sound, music, everything about it, should be what every flash game author should aspire to. 5 of 5. Loved it. (Obviously)
The game needs a LOT of work. The graphics, the sound, the controls, all of the content feels sluggish and very amateurly done. I love the idea and the concept thereof and this could be an EXCELLENT game with a little polish. In a shooter genre style game, I expect quick reaction and slick controls and this game just doesn't deliver on that aspect. The graphics are of low quality, the sound is simplistic and I can't shake the feeling that this was simply slapped together around a cool concept, but with extremely poor application.
Keep trying man, I know you'll knock us out eventually...and I can't wait until you do. However, until you do, the best I can offer is a 2 of 5, brah. Keep at it, as I'm sure you'll do better. :-D
I honestly don't think that it's as bad as some people have made it out to be. The scale of the game is reminiscent of Pixelshock's TD game, which I thought was rather well done as well. The sound and music were done nicely, the game is very simplistic and a great way to introduce someone into the TD genre, due to its simplicity in design.
The difficulty IS rather low, which is why I say that it would be better targeted towards genre newbies. 4 of 5.
This, unfortunately, is a bad game. I was expecting something along the lines of either Stalingrad or SNAFU, not a poorly executed piece of crap like this is. For shame.
While extremely derivative and repetitive, I actually still found some enjoyment from the game itself. Perhaps it's not worth a 5, but I still feel like it's worth checking out for fans of this genre of game. Lord knows that I, myself, played all the Freddy and Jason games, The Visitor, the Reaper game and whatever other horror style of adventure games that Kong offers.
I do agree, however, that this game suffers from the same ailments that all games in the point and click genre do, which is repetitive pixel hunts. Add in not quite exact control, especially during the Traffic Jam phase and you have a serious case of annoyance. That being said, I still give it a 4 out of 5 for fans, 3 out of 5 for everyone else.
I found the game to be a nice change from the standard RTD or TD games that populate Kong's Strategy Defense genre. The AI was challenging, but not difficult, the gameplay was fairly simple to pick up and play, the graphics could've been slightly crisper, but I did notice and love the Fallout music.
4 of 5. Would like to see more content from this author.
2 out of 5 for the shitty knife implementation. Sorry bro, but this game fails on most fronts. I can understand wanting to shake up the formula a little bit, but damn, choose something worth using. Gamers HATE to be annoyed by something that relies solely on chance.
Movement is irritating, the aiming system sucks, as it never fires a flare exactly where you click it. Original concept, horrible execution, 1 out of 5.
Some of the puzzles seemed very reminiscent of The Visitor. The length saddened me. :( Seems like a good game, perhaps a full version is in order? Maybe with alternate endings or the like? As is, 4 of 5.
First impression was Spyhunter meets the very first GTA game. Graphics are nice, the sound was sharp and this IS a very well presented game, but perhaps a little more fleshed out would be nice. Maybe some cut scenes, mostly because while the mission descriptions sound cool, all you're really doing is driving from Point A to Point B. 4 out of 5.
