This game is way too hard, no saves, no checkpoints, no undo at all, you must do the whole thing perfectly and if you don't it's back to the start to repeat all that stuff you just did over and over even though its not fun any more. I can see a good game buried somewhere under the bad execution.
Fun game, good concept and I liked all the different combinations you could make to score powerups and such. However, the game is hamstrung by the fact the developer hates players. No save, no level select? For a game like this that is heavily based on luck? Give me a break. It doesn't look like this will ever be fixed either since just about everyone who has commented on this game noted this as a problem. It's too bad because this game is pretty cool otherwise.
Very cool game, well done across the board. There are some bugs and the later levels can get frustrating but these are minor quibbles. I had some problems targeting the portals, they seemed a little off, but maybe that was just me. Great game!
Interesting game concept, but this has really limited appeal. When the rotations happen, there is a lot of luck involved. I found that if I wasn't perfectly in the center (which is not always possible) then my ball would go flying around randomly and may end up hitting a triangle. I had my girlfriend help me get the badge, I can't even imagine trying to do that with just one person.
This is a boring platformer. Your character is just a guppy that can't do anything but jump. Collect all the candy? Find all the secrets?? This game is not fun enough to do all of that. I can see how they tried for something a little different with all the switching but there are so many other platformers you could play that are better than this one. Give me some way to combat the enemies in the game at the very least.
This is a great breakout type game with some original game concepts. The difficulty feels just right, though I would like to see some more levels. There's lots of things that could be added that we've all seen before like bricks that take multiple hits to destroy, powerups, enemies on screen and so forth but I think this is trying to be different so it works.
The game has some polish to it and it is a serviceable platformer. However, I found the gameplay to be repetitive and very boring. You walk forward, enemies spawn constantly all around you, you come to a door which needs X number of enemies killed to open it. Rinse, repeat. The only enemy that was any fun to kill was the boss.
After playing through Protector, (the updated and expanded version of this game) I'm not going to play this all the way through. Most of the problems I see were fixed in Protector, though the one biggie I noticed is still a problem: This game needs a speedup button, it can be painully slow paced. Some of the fat-boy ogres and other cool monster sprites were removed, though I understand this was so the game could have 100% original content, which I think is a good idea. I liked how the mages changed the way they looked as they levelled up and it allowed me to tell who was what level at a glance, though I can see how simplicity here might be more desirable. Cool to see the origins of a good game.
What a nice little platformer! It's small and basic but succeeds on the strength of its story, which has a simultaneous post-apocalyptic / 1984 feel to it. When I played through I ended up getting killed on stage 5 and when I hit Retry it plunked me down on the same stage with just my handgun. In need of some better firepower, I revisited the hospital to pick up the rifle. Maybe I'm just not getting something, but I seem to be stuck in there with no way to leave the stage? Again, not sure if this is a bug, but my suggestion would be to just let me try again with my weapons or just game over it, since its not really possible to kill the stage 5 enemies with the handgun anyway. Good game.
This is a deeply flawed RPG. The one word that comes to mind is "Grind". The start of the game is a long grind against the same enemy, over and over, come to think of it, that about sums up this game. The puzzles in the game can be painful to sit through and don't feel connected to the game except so there can be a puzzle. The story is barely there and in game dialogue is as basic as it gets. No skill choices, no equipment choices, this is also as linear as it gets folks. The author of this game needs to go to RPG school. Battle mode is ok but it goes on for ages, (read: boring) with no way to save. Stay away.
This is an epic final fantasy style RPG with a good 10 hours of gameplay, one of the best on Kongregate. There is a lot of dialogue to wade through, and the writer has tried to use humor to keep it light all the way through. I'll confess I wasn't wowed by it or the storyline and didn't read all of it, though it's a worthy and sincere effort well worth checking out. There is a system of mastering skills that keeps the battles at least somewhat engaging, which is smart for a game like this. Great followup to chapter 1, actually makes the first one seem much better when considered as a package.
This game, while seemingly cool with the alien worm scouring dimensional rifts in a quest to evolve, is just not fun to me. It gets boring after the first level and the powerups and upgrades are weak and don't add any fun to the game. I'm not sure what to suggest in terms of improvement here, except maybe some more interesting powerups and upgrades.
Fun little game, I liked the idea of the asteroids turning on the humans. Some original gameplay elements, and not too difficult either. Overall a good game. The badges are poorly thought out and make this game annoying while you're trying to get them. A medium badge for clearing the game would have been fine. Sigh...
This is one of the best games on Kongregate, obviously, so I'm not going to gush but rather focus on things I feel need improvement to meet its full potential. The classes (I prefer the Guardian) each follow a pretty fixed progression in terms of both skills and equipment, and the game is very linear, giving it an RPG-lite feel that was disappointing. I think a sequel, with more content, more variation in skill and equipment choices and perhaps some left or right turn decisions would make for a really great game.
Good game, lots of fun. The trick to getting the hard badge with maxed out plane is to go for the lowest degrees possible, then use a Freaky and all 3 sodas in a row to go as high as possible. Next use all the skis and finally the other 2 Freakys. Should get about 9k.
This game is fun to play for about 20-30 minutes, and then you get tired of it and put it down. The problem with this game is that it is too easy up to about 500 seconds, when a sudden leap in difficulty makes it very hard to reach the 600 second mark and get the badge, and every time you fail you have to re-play those 500 seconds again before getting a shot at the part thats hard. There is no timer in the game, which wouldn't matter at all except for this incredibly stupid badge. Some have said you can just bounce the first boss for the 10 minutes, but I keep accidentally hitting the side cannons, screwing up the whole effort. Now I've played the game WELL PAST its expiration date. Ugh.
