Good game, but much simpler than some others out there. I liked the screen flipping and it had a snappy, arcade like feel to it. Three strikes and you're out, no extra life powerups and somewhat limited gameplay would be my criticisms, but I don't think it was meant to be a very deep game.
Great game, reminded me of Scorched Earth. Original setting, smooth gameplay, good story and well polished to boot. I used the original gun along with the EMP, shield, Mr Nuke and Time Extender on all 3 turrets. Didn't have to switch between them much during battle to win, (I'm lazy) the other turrets served as a distraction after I finished maxing out my weapons.
With this strategy I was able to complete all the levels without too much trouble.
At first I was taken with the art style and simple gameplay. After a few levels though, you realize that you can just run past all the enemies, (and the combat isn't terribly engaging) so the only challenge is in the jumping puzzles, which, if you miss one jump in a sequence of 12, you have to do all over again every time. It's just not my idea of fun having to re-do a level a hundred times because I have to perfectly execute 20 jumps in a row. Does every jump have to have a pit beneath that instantly kills me? Eeesh.
I didn't like the last open doors and expected not to like this one either but this really is a vast improvement. The graphics make a big difference, this is much easier on the eyes. The added features like switches vary the gameplay, while the stats and medals are a good idea to make it more interesting. Very well done.
Overall a good game that was enjoyable because you get to be a demon and the artwork and voice acting are pretty good. I liked the first three sequences better than the last two - I got stuck on a couple of things up there like clicking the floor when you lift up the vase. The bedroom just seemed deserted.
Wonderful little adventure, easy enough that I just scooted through it without much effort, though it was pretty short. I thought there was going to be another sequence in Hell at least. I did not have a problem with the maze as others seem to have. There are plenty of visual and audio clues to let you know where you are and it's small enough that you can't really get hopelessly lost.
I found the gameplay to be really boring. I wanted to see the ending so I guess the story did its job, though it was pretty outlandish. There was a spark missing here, but I liked the idea.
Great game, perfectly balanced. I got all the badges and I did not need to grind bushes or pots to get gold. I ran the Coliseum 4 times total and had all the gold I needed. For a walkthrough, go here: http://www.berzerkstudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=73&highlight=heroes+arms, for World 2 just follow the same path you did in World 1. There are 2 bushes that hide 2 secret monsters in World 2 to complete the bestiary.
Ok, I really want to like this game but after several hours playing through it I just cannot stand it anymore. The critical / supercritical hits ruin it. You can be playing a map, cleaning out the enemies with no problem whatsoever and any random enemy (including the last, weakest one you have surrounded with strong units and has 1 hit point left) can just one-shot your general or any other unit you might have with a critical hit that does more damage than their maximum hit points. Or it could go the other way - I'm losing badly, when suddenly I'll get a bunch of critical hits that one-shot all the enemy units and I win for nothing. Lame. Turns an awesome tactical game into a critical hit luck-fest. Un-favorited and downrated until this aspect of the game is fixed.
