Love the game, but wondering about the reset upgrades part. Why does it throw you out of the level and make you go through the dialogue again? shouldn't it just reset the points on the screen and allow reselection? Don't know if that's a bug or design flaw.
Once again I have to ask why many games erase save data once they add kong achievements? I don't get it, but it happens a lot. Kong - is there any way you could write some kind of help guide, or outright code, for these great game developers so this crap stops happening?
Cute and good all around. One note that may help folks is the second cannon upgrade (fire more at once). I initially thought I had a supply of cannonballs, say 6 and that with this upgrade I would simply fire them faster. However, it actually gives you another cannon AND another stash of cannonballs to go with it. Nicely overpowered upgrade and makes things much easier. Sadly I completed the 1st 22 or 23 stages without that upgrade and was getting annoyed. Got that upgrade (through use of slot machine for big cash btw) and bam, owned everything.
Great effort overall. But something in here is just eating up memory. It's not the quality issue either - play plenty of high quality flash games. Dont know what it is but hope you find and patch it.
Good work overall. The Guide screen helps quite a bit. Stats given there, but the amount of slow you just have to try out. I found the blue/slow tower to be essential to have 1 or 2 per map. I never used the red tower. Good combination of stats, strategy (with fixed placement), randomness of creep movement, graphics and playability.
I found the screen jumping a lot though when trying to move view or upgrade towers. Don't know why that kept happening, but very annoying.
Though the game has a lot of good points, for some reason it just didn't "do it" for me. Maybe because I only used brown towers (and then only triple shot) and a couple blue and there just weren't many actual choices/plans. Still, great job overall.
ok, I gave the game a good review and thoughtful comments earlier. but now you've ruined it like too many other programmers. for some reason, once kong adds badges, we lose our save file? cannot stand that.
loved the game. when I beat all levels awhile ago. i cannot understand how it is that still today games wipe away saves/progress when they get badges. really surprising for an established game series like this one.
First, I'm glad you titled it with DEMO. Second, it's awesome. The dialogue is pretty funny, the play works well, things seem balanced, tutorials are good, all options, key mappings, etc are good. Maybe I missed it, but tips about hitting ESC to back out of a selection and using arrows keys to pan around big map would be nice. The length is great for a demo. Good job overall, thanks.
like the game. good work on artwork, tower balance, number of levels (not too many), skill trees. the FWD doesn't seem to work for me but not a big deal. Though I somewhat like the idea of experience in order to level up, needing to get to lvl 4 before anything cool, and then the cool stuff costing way much, seemed to be a let down. I completed all normal levels straight away and barely used any fun upgrades. cost/benefit never seemed to be there. Maybe the challenge levels will be different. also, though I like the difficulty modifiers for grinding, found I didnt need to grind, so no incentive to replay. anyway, great job overall.
Fun stuff, but the luck factor is too high. Yes, I've done most levels, and yes gotten gold. But it's annoying to redo the level just based on spawn rate and location. Plus, lots and lots of moving turrets around. Maybe I'm old skool, but I prefer more stationary TD action. So far I also dont see much advantage in towers other than the basic either. Still, like that it plays well enough and doesn't have a high learning curve. good job overall.
love the game. minor request - somehow make the map markers visually able to determine if you've passed each thing on easy or normal. ie, you have the stars, the shield and the wings - all great. but can't tell the difference between easy and normal without clicking through everything. perhaps different colors?
Clearly I'm the worst player here. I've completed the game with 3 stars each (most on normal, a few on easy) and at no time did I want a speed up button. Holy cow, there's so much micro management to be done to win the level, I couldn't imagine it moving faster. Even on the levels where you clear early, the key there is to call the next level early for bonus. For all those asking for the button, have you actually beaten every level (with 3 stars)?
Fixed. Thanks
