Looks like holding shift while placing a tower only works once -- you have to release, then re-press shift in order to continue placing towers without reselecting the tower.
Like the original, there seems to be a point past which the strategy of fights gets awfully one-dimensional. But the fun of playing through the career of a mage and experiencing the story... well, I must admit I've just been through the game twice which took several hours. Highest marks, and thank you.
Trying to earn $1600 in one day was tough. I think I tried about 25 times - the most I could get was about $900. Then on final time, I strung together enough purple platforms that I got $6000 and fell very slightly shy of getting to Mars on the second day. It just takes a very lucky first day to get the hard badge.
I enjoyed this game, but it wore thin as it went on. At first I thought the game was going to let me create a world with a path dictated by the order of invention. It turns out that it was just a (very clever, interesting, and huge) matching game. Also, it rankled me a bit that I had to just explore to find the combinations that the game's creator found interesting, rather than be creative on my own. I fully acknowledge, of course, that creating a game with such vast combinations calls for an incredible amount of thought and work.
I'd love to see this concept merged with world creation where, rather than putting together a puzzle with only one ultimate outcome, a world takes on a unique character based on the player's choices.
This is a great beginning: I'd love to see it grow into a larger game concept.
I loved the pet RPG concept, but quickly tired of the game when I realized it was based on repetitious grinding quests. The controls are also jerky - makes walking anywhere frustrating, and the game requires endless amounts of walking. The game looks awesome - I hope to see improved incarnations of it!
Obviously it's easy and unfinished, but I can also see why people are making such a fuss. It's really beautiful and the mechanics are elegant. Very well done, and I hope you do take the encouragement as incentive to carry it further.
I really enjoyed this game -- really classy, solid escape-style adventure. I'm undecided about whether I'm sick to death of zombies or whether it's just a totally acceptable permanent genre, but any horror theme goes pretty well with escape games like this one.
i liked this game but it needs more upgradsz
More seriously, this game cracks me up. I love that someone developed a whole game just to grind his own personal axe of how silly he thinks upgrades are, and how ridiculously Pavlovian most casual gamers are in responding to them.
Aren't people embarrassed to criticize this game because it's too difficult? It's not random at all, and it's winnable as long as you learn how to block effectively.
This game does get a bit repetitive if you play through all the chapters, but I really, really enjoyed the basic concept.
I really enjoyed this game. The first part was a bit easy; once you get the momentum of a few wins behind you, it's just sweeping away country after country until you get to phase two of the game. Still: I love this kind of simple, entertaining strategy fare.
