It's an ok platformer but really just another silhouette platformer. I don't know when that trend started so maybe this was fresh in 2012. The major problem is the lack of light from the lantern. I died several times simply because I couldn't see or because an obvious platform was a background object. As for the story, I have no investment in the girl. I don't know if there is supposed to be something meaningful about the fact that I can't get back up to her. I went to find my magic acorn and then for some reason put it down on a different tree and now it grows acorns. Ok...
This is an awesome game! The mechanic is something I haven't seen before and is really fun. Right when I was bothered that the puzzles were too straightforward, I got a few that made me think. I love that I have to think spatially about how the connections will fold the space. For some reason, I got a kick out of the bot's hands clicking in and that sound effect at the start of the level. I would like for there to be more to the music. The opening menu track is great. My only real complaint is that I don't like the "slippery feet." I don't like sliding when I land in a platformer. 5'd and favorited.
This game is a cool idea that goes nowhere. Why have all these different powers if I don't need them? I doused 2 fires and flipped one electrical switch. But I cast hundreds of fireballs to kill the same enemies over and over. You did introduce some enemy variety, which is good but what could have been a great puzzle focused platformer was a dull action platformer. The music was cool but the sound effects became annoying, particularly the sound of charging the magic.
The game really isn't that hard but you do have to think outside the box. I love that I had to click things on the screen, not just the options in the box. My only complaint is that it takes too long to get through the noisy hallway.
Finally beat it with Marvin, Soldier, and Doctor left. The Psychiatrist and Engineer left after the second animal attack, which was annoying because I had plenty of food still. However I was running low late so that might have saved me. Maybe not since I'd have had more actions to hunt. Fun but frustrating because of RNG.
I've been playing more since my first comment. My only complaint is that the animal attacks are BS. It's like the game telling me "Oh, you thought you were doing a good job? Well F you, buddy." I lose ammo, food, and morale. Now I have to spend actions getting both of the last two back. It completely screws me over and I don't understand either why they don't move the food or why they can't defend one spot on their tiny camp. It's not like they were camping out away from the food and it got raided.
I like that it was educational as it reminded me of the classes I took long ago. However, I dislike how much it held my hand. I felt like the first 5 levels were tutorial. The ending was awesome though.
So this game is basically a launch game where you go right instead of up. It was a bit of fun, though I have to wonder how I get back to the garage each time!
Great idea for a game. The graphics are great and I love the scares I get to use. Unfortunately actually accomplishing the objective was a chore. The people run around and I figured out that I need to keep scaring them, but they run through rooms before I can scare them and then they calm down. They take a lot before they actually run out rather than running randomly. I'd be interested to know what makes them die rather than run out.
Cool game but no payoff for the creepy start. The celebration at the end was a bit odd. I suppose I could see it as just that horrible that nobody at the end cares. Who wrote all that at the start though? This reminds me of The Swapper, which was pretty good. The only gameplay complaint is that the character falls too quickly. A short jump is fine, but that made it clumsy.
This is very much like Kingdom Rush, a game I enjoyed a lot. I liked this one to start, though I got a bit bored, partly because it seemed easy, but also possibly only because I played a lot of KR. Great art and sound for sure.
Cool start, though I wish it was a bit more in depth. I was able to take a lot of territory at the start, making it a bit easy. I don't like that critical hits are instant kills though. I had an enemy sloop take out my galleon in one hit.
That was just a big grind. I give some credit for putting together a game that works, but it's just single click gameplay and basic art. However, the music is cool.
