Hm, I like how the game is now a lot harder (especially if you didn't find polymorph) at higher levels with mage, but going down a floor, and starting with 2 minotaurs left and right (right NEXT) to you, not so much fun >< Insta-rape.
As much as I hate some aspects of this game, it is immensely gratifying to join a team that's at the bottom of L2, stick with it and end up first in the highest league through your efforts :)
Spells (apart from frost bolt, which, together with faster cast + freeze, seems essential) spells just don't seem usefull, because of the mana cost and low regen. For those having trouble, use burning oil + defenses (paling, barricade) at first (coupled with frost bolt + regen, lower casting cost and freeze chance), later when you have enough skulls, get the frost skills, deadly archers and keep adding points to castle skills, concentrating on the oil first. Don't use cavalry, fear can be usefull, but keep in mind that feared shamans are back to normal again once they are frozen and unfrozen again.
I really wonder how a game this bugged got such a high rating... Characters not responding after breakin free from zombies, G key for saving companions not working, save files getting corrupted or not loading, etc. As it is, this is barely playable. 1/5
I still really REALLY would like to see a harder difficulty then impossible, because as is the game is simply too easy and doesn't give that 'you're doomed' feeling rebuild 1 could give you. Impossible should be nearly *impossible* - not something that you can win every single time starting with regular survivors and without even saving and STILL making mistakes. So, how about a 'more impossible' difficulty or something? :~
I really enjoyed this game. The atmosphere, music and art was good and especially the basics of the combat system was a nice touch! It feels unfinished though. Some suggestions:
1. More in-depth and detailed story; premise and atmosphere is great with it's Lovecraftian touches but it all feels rushed and somewhat cliché at times.
2. Less repetetive fights. Make fights harder and more strategic, or have more variety in types of enemies and their moves. Preferably both? Fighting the same enemy twenty times gets tedious.
3. More skills for the characters, more emphasis on strategy. Perhaps have more and/or better utility/defensive skills and give the player more incentive to use them?
4. Balance difficulty and characters; Last flake/headhunter are ridiculously overpowered. With enough skill points, the student and detective get too strong as well, while the librarian is weak.
5. More! This is a game with a lot of potential, keep up the good work.
Actually, the hard badge is super easy WITHOUT playing a game on easier difficulty first and taking survivors. Never a challenge really, not for a moment - unless you really have no clue whatsoever what you are doing. You don't even need much of a strategy. I'm finding insane very easy as well. And yeah, I get my ass handed to me when I play very hard or insane on the first one, so it's not like I'm that good ^^
I love love love this game! After getting the badges, I am now going to do a huge city on insane. Probably without taking old survivors... or using saves for that matter. After playing regular rebuild on insane it should be a breezy hehe. We'll see ^^
Gameplay wise, this may be the most annoying game I have EVER played on this website. It's so counter-intuïtive I actually ragequitted -_- Though it would have been unlike me, had I played for just ONE minute longer, this might have been my first all caps comment full of swearing. How anyone can like this is truly beyond me.
Scout is too overpowered, especially with the arena items... cheap shot does not share cooldown with kidney shot and can be used combined with the stun bomb - and with casters you can silence them for additional rounds with sucker punch and arcane bomb. For example, I had the doom frog on total lockdown WITHOUT even using all of my silence/stun skills and items. And even if we would be facing stronger melee opponents, cheap shot/kidney shot/flash bomb not sharing cooldown would not give them any chance. May want to look into this ;)
