A really nice game. A few problems here and there, but all in all a good package. I can't make up my mind about the debt; it seemed like the only thing driving the game forwards, and then suddenly the difficulty curve hit me like an anvil on level 19, and I honestly don't know if I'd have had the resources to cope with it if I'd been saddled with debt. Still, a rethink of my spells and strategy managed to get me through that with an absolute minimum of grind, so I'm happy.
I rinsed the hell out of the original, so there's nothing really for me here. Let's have a sequel. Preferably one in which you can move your skill points around on the tech tree.
What a shame. This game is loaded with ideas, but no effort has been spent in setting the difficulty level; instead the player is left to tweak options to do that for himself. As such, it leaves me cold. One, therefore, for the casual gamer and the extreme gemcraft addict. Gemcraft 0 was better.
Well there seems to be a fair bit of content here, but it all feels so inconsequential. I'd rather play a more linear game with some chance of failure in it.
Uninteresting. All the early levels, certainly, never make you feel like you might fail at them, only that you have to grind away at them with trial and error for far too long.
