Solid gold. Suprisingly deep, decent storyline, bug-free with impressive performance (especially the last mission!) and overall great production values. The most unqualified 5/5 I've given for a long time. And honestly, the theme song is GREAT! If I could rate it higher, I would.
The only complaint - waiting for next waves was a little slow sometimes, but really since it only took about 2 mins total it wasn't that long, and that was plenty of time to stockpile.
Educational AND fun! The artwork is pretty bad but that doesn't stop me from giving it a 5/5 for pure content.
I also wonder what it would be like with a bit more depth on the diagnosis side - I can just do every test on the planet until I get all the symptoms, then look them up. It's nice that there's no price for failure though, so the learning curve is nice and easy for an extremely complicated subject.
I was forced to revise a rare 5/5 rating down to a 3/5 for a few issues. First, when something is destroyed its pricing needs to scale back down to the previous tier. Second, wave difficulty scales far too quickly for pitiful towers to keep up - especially since towers cost increasingly large amounts to build. The 'boss' waves wipe out half my stuff, and since we're forced to build farms / power plants, I can't just max out defenses to survive. Finally, this game is one of the few I've actually encountered bugs in - losing more than a few buildings at once crashes the game, and I'm forced to reload my browser everytime to restart after losing.
Other than that, it's a great idea, game mechanic, the art is good, and it's fun despite being horribly unbalanced. Fix up some issues and I'll revise the rating! Good job, just polish it a bit. ^_^
The level design is atrocious - i can be RIGHT next to the portal and if I fall off, I'm all the way back at the start. Plus, the monsters respawn so fast it's pretty much like restarting the level - or worse. I ran out of stamina so fast, and the regen rate was so abysmal that it would have been faster just to restart rather than stand around and wait for it to come back. The monsters had too many HP even when I was using advanced arrows - and what's up with them only dropping iron arrows?
However! The game was nonstop action, and there was a great variety of enemies. I didn't feel like I leveled up too fast, and the bosses were epic. It was a bit of a clickfest but the overall production let me skip the frustrating jumps and give this a 4/5. Good job... just make the levels a bit less tedious and the jumps more forgiving in 80% of the level.
Who knew adding such a simply mechanic (bombs) to the old standby click-brick game could make it so much more fun? 5/5, honestly, because it's just that much better - and the interface + artwork is spot on.
The collision based detection is frustrating - a physics-based paddle would have been a bit more intuitive. 3/5 because the difficulty curve is incredibly steep and somewhat frustrating because of the controls.
What everyone else said... I'll cut + paste andyE's comment. "Too easy, needs replayability. enemy sling resets to middle after losing a point, you don't. need pause."
4/5 because it's prety difficult to successfully improve on pong and make it interesting, but you did it! Great job.
I was all ready to give this 5/5 then I found out ninjas were the GOOD guys. ....... Actually just kidding, 3/5 for being a boring regular TD game that brings nothing to the table. The artwork is decent.
athena - the donkey's speed is much better now! ^_^ Good job!
After a minute or so, however, the game will crash immediately after the donkey dies on spikes. :(
Okay, here's an idea to make it more fun. the donkey should always move in a straight line. The different objects should make him do different things - some should turn him to the left, some to the right, some should make him move randomly, some should make him turn around. You can have non-moveable squares that give extra points when the donkey runs over them. That way the player will want to use the items to figure out how to get the most points. Randomizing crates should give lots of points, but do dangerous things as well as shield (random direction, speed up, etc). Another idea for obstacles - a "hole" that can't be moved. Don't let your ass fall in a hole! ;-D
The instructions aren't explained well enough. Until about level 12 on story mode, i would just click numbers in decreasing order until it hit a multiple. If i clicked all the numbers, i'd remove points down to the next multiple - easily getting 60-90 pts per turn and finishing levels in just a few turns. I can't figure out how you screwed up the instructions when Julialyn managed to explain the thing in one sentence above. 3/5 because technically the game is okay, it's just really boring once you figure out the trick.
Very relaxing... has a nice art style. The puzzles are extremely simple causal chains, and I didn't actually use any of the special elements at all. 3/5 because it feels like there's more story or depth that could be added to make this more engaging - as is, it has almost no replay value
There's no point to this game besides progression - a little reward would help. Also, maybe powerups and a bit more enemy variation. For the love of anything, please fix the camera- your ship doesn't go fast enough to warrant that nausea-inducing speed transition. 2/5 because there's no polish at all... though it does have potential.
Needs drag+drop or an automatic watering system. Didn't know i could click on asteroids and lost 2 plants. Once all plants are dead and you're out of money, game should reset, or needs menu option. Overall, really boring, but there's a good idea deep down. 2/5
It's an interesting idea, but the donkey moves too fast and is unpredictable. Since he runs through every object except spikes there is no point in moving any of the other objects. He can turn at any time, so even if I have a path clear, he could just turn around and run right into the spikes I just moved. Too hard, too based on luck, and since there's no real goal it has no replayability. 2/5
Bought the autolaser early and raped absolutely everything until level 40. I had no chance against the boss and died pretty much instantly. Now I have to start from level 1, which is a massive waste of time. 3/5 for the ridiculous difficulty ramp in between long stretches of boring.
