I'd like to point out the difference between a good game and a bad game.
Play this game with the keyboard.
Then use the mouse to move the ship around (just click wherever).
Notice how much easier it becomes with the mouse? That's a sign that it's really an easy game, and bad control design makes it difficult.
2/5. Too easy, no motivation, pretty boring. Though the weapons were kinda fun... lasercannonpewpewpepwewp
i'm just going to copy and paste storageheater's post here because it's exactly how i feel.
Hmm. 3/5. Good idea, and fun, but it’s very frustrating trying to get the wheelly thing to land back in the halfpipe perfectly. I can see that it’s meant to be difficult to judge landing on platforms but making the basic halfpipes so awkward is a bit off-putting. If it were a case of ‘ten tries to land on the platform’ it would make sense, but it’s ‘ten tries to get the speed up in the first place’ which just makes me lose interest.
all the tracks LOOK the same. boring. Even the cars are exactly the same. This is an alright idea but the game is so unimaginably dull, i almost killed myself before I remembered I still haven't finished all the levels in Areas. brb.
3/5
3/5, not bad. The dudes are too hard to hit, even when the shot lands right on them. No indication when you're actually hitting stuff until it blows up. rockets take too long to fire and can't aim for shit. otherwise it's surprisingly entertaining. Good music.
Apeking beat me to it, but I'm willing to give it a 2/5 because it's got a FEW interesting features. Luminara is far more polished.
Next time, don't rip off another game and come up with your own idea.
The physics are terrible. Elastic boxes?! They never stop jiggling, and even when i'm so clearly over the line it takes 10+ seconds for the tower to 'settle' enough to qualify.
There's no strategy here a 3-year-old couldn't figure out. 2/5
Wow, this is fantastic! Everything about it is great, though i wish RagDollMan's arms weren't so damn rubbery and he would autoaim if I were standing still. I'm always impressed ragdollsoft games balancing - i didn't feel this was too hard, and I got much better after a few plays. That red laserbeam on the mothership is a bitch though...
I'm unsure as to why you have a game that's about as graphically minimal as you can get, but it runs at 11 f/s.
As a typing tutor, this is worthless because you have to keep one hand on your mouse. It's also boring and there's no reward, or even challenge for that matter.
why even bother to have a 'top speed' if you're supposed to 'avoid hitting the walls' - not go fast.
There's no way to control the missile's speed and it just keeps getting faster and faster.
left-right are typically 'rotate' for this sort of game, the control scheme is terrible.
no sound, but i guess in this case that's probably a blessing.
To quantify the control scheme bitching - it's hard to build a NEW pylon because when the mouse is equidistant, it has a hard time deciding which point to start the new pylon from.
Should make it so you just have to click a point, then click off it to create a new pylon, or click 2 points to connect them (keep that like it is)
Really needs sound. :(
It's pretty awesome coming back and seeing 50 more pages of comments.
I still love the art, music, design, but still only a 4/5 (after a second play) for some UI wierdness.
I like this game a lot, 4/5, two things
- less clicking! :( Maybe if you could just scrub to kill things.
- gray squares are bullshit. Give them an outline or SOMETHING.
I think some people just don't like the neo-retro style. That's totally fine, but it probably costs pixeljam ratings. Sucks, but this gets 5/5 from me! I love it!
Good idea for a puzzle game, but a little boring. Took me a while to get the hang of it. Is there a train schedule anywhere, I just kept failing levels until i figured out the schedule on my own - it would be cool to have a button next to 'map' that showed the schedules and destinations of trains running that day and their arrival/departure times.
Hey, this is a REALLY GOOD PUZZLE GAME. It just needs a little more polish - catchy music, and a few extra sound effects. I agree, flowers need a 'dying' animation.
i didn't quite understand the grass-vines-molehole thing at first, maybe the tutorial needs to be more accessible.
a decent idea but jebus it's hard. Get rid of the mouse out. 'Guess the order' is the worst game mechanic ever - never, never, never ever use it again, please.
