I'm pretty leary of bothering to play this because I played another bigpoint game called deepolis and they created a complete overclass of overpowered options for the people paying.
This game definitely gets better the longer you play it. It would be nice if you got plat a little faster, but raid drops do pretty much level your equipment over time. I think interface improvements are the main thing holding this game back from being 5/5. I agree with another reviewer that the arena is a bit problematic in that you have to spend plat to be at all competitive and the rewards are a bit small. The battle interface is a good way to level faster with your stam, but a reward in exp for picking harder opponents would be nice. Also seeing if you won or lost a battle directly on the battle screen would be nice.
The starting screen with the whole premise of the game (and games of this time) coming to you as an instant message on a smart phone just cracks me up.
I muddled through the initial disappointment of the interface and low energy budget, and I have to say there's more content here than you initially apparent. Arenas can be fun, the Raids are interesting although the loot on lower level bosses is disappointing. Better explanation of the nature of the game somehow, like a tutorial that walks you through the basic strategy of leveling and equipping allies, etc. would be a big help.
So far I've found the dungeons and the combined player boss fights to be the most fun. Leveling is very easy if you are patient with the altars. The hero and troop assignment is a bit cumbersome. Resources are pretty easy to come by if you upgrade and use all the free cards. The story is Ok, I don't like the waiting for easy battles to complete. I'd say it's better over all than I expected given my initial impression. 4/5. Allow us to skip battles for free, improve the quest completion instructions (location of quest giver), fix the grammar, it might even be a 5/5
Level 16, just hold still we're going to blast you across this gap with a mass of gel as big as you propelled by TNT, and that stone wall on the other side will stop you. Don't worry about a thing.
Never have I been so happy for the right-hand-rule of maze solving. I actually found the whole thing rather relaxing after the first level when I decided to try it.
Just finished, it was pretty fun. It would have been nice to have tried out different strategies with all the types of gear and spells, but I found myself gravitating to regen items and healing items, treasure hunt and storms for spells (pretty much auto play the board with those). The coal is a little annoying, but it does sell. BTW played with the debt, I thing that added to the fun, I let it build up in the early rounds then paid it off when I was making good money.
With 2x strength upgrades lvl 20 was successful for me on the 2nd try. I'm wondering if it can be one with spd upgrades. Anyone found spd to be beneficial? Definitely some balance issues in this game.
I haven't been able to beat level 20 yet, I saw zacthebunnyhero's comment, but so far it's not working for me. I can't get enough bees into the tower over time to hold it. I wonder if you have double strength upgrades, I may have to start over because I have 1 speed and 1 strength and I'm wondering now if the 1 speed was a mistake.
I'd give this a 3.5. The variety of units was offset by the near impossibility of using them effectively on any of the levels. I ended up with a combination of mines to clear ground based air support, air-only to clear the airspace, then the flying acid squirting guys to finish everything (with a long wait because I had to economize on these.) At no point did the enemy have much to do other than die. I rarely failed to get an egg to hatch due to ground attack. Trying to add in any of the other unit types just made the strategy less likely to succeed. One of the problems is the need to kill buildings when many of the units won't attack.
M.C. Escher would be proud. I was standing right there, and I turned to the right then back to the left and voila, I was really standing over here on the other side you see?

Thanks to ivod for posting his best scores, I was able to whittle mine down to 198, and I'm done trying. Here are a few levels where I happened to score lower than his: 12:5 33:4 46:5 50:8
