If I were a philosophy or debate teacher, I'd assign this game as homework.
...
And I apologize if someone said that before me and I accidentally copied them.
Sorry for the double post but I have to ask... Did anyone else start maxing out (or attempting to max out) super mode, movement speed, and the self-bomb just so you could charge into the enemy swarm and BOOM!...?
Difficult in the beginning but fun once I understood what's going on and what I'm doing. A more in depth explanation of game features would be nice; example: "command" versus "ai" for example, "assault t1" versus "assault t2" and so forth. An explanation of each unit's stats would be very helpful and the ability to customize our controls would (apparently) make some players very happy. Overall a very good game.
The biggest problem I see with the game is that you can't build a new tower under an older tower. If you could squeeze a tower between two you've already built instead of just stacking new towers on top of the old, you'd have many more building options available to you. Overall still fun and the enemies are cute (which makes killing them even more enjoyable) but sometimes expanding your base is a logistic nightmare. Example: having to build a branch off a slowing trap, thus negating the trap's usefulness.
... okay, got another suggestion. The middle of a wave, when there's a boss charging down the street with blood dripping from its fangs... is a terrible, terrible time to remind me to stock up on resources...
Hahaha. It sounds like you ran out of bullets at that point. We remind people of the tents when someone first runs out of bullets, because they often forget how to get more! That is certainly bad timing, though... will pass along to our designer.
Played up to level 4 so far and am enjoying it quite a bit (the creeper boss was a nice touch). Only suggestions I've got so far are an enemy encyclopedia (so we know what makes wanderers different from reapers, besides appearance) and... this might be on my end but for some reason when I throw a grenade, the game seems to assume that I want to keep throwing, so when i try to throw and then run, I end up throwing 2 grenades and standing still. Kind of a problem.
Hey burningwings, thanks for the comments - glad you're enjoying it so far! The grenade issue sounds to be a bug we need to look into. If you were willing to shoot us a message letting us know what browser you're using, we will look into reproducing this. As for your enemy encyclopedia suggestion, that's a great idea!
Cheers.
I have to ask, for some of the later stages (back issues on and some of the earlier Crisis-difficulty issues), how often do you find yourself just spamming the restart button because the enemy keeps blasting you before you've got a chance to make a move?
Could you please give us a nexus-style thing so we can fuse cards together? Seriously, my collection is getting ridiculous and most are cards I'd never consider playing, at this point. Even fusing for crafting materials would be tempting.
Even the buttons are the same. Same bugs, too. If you're going to keep making the same kind of game, over and over again, at least consider putting some effort into making one or two improvements per clone.
Overall, pretty awesome game. My biggest complaint would have to be that once an enemy reaches your side, you're pretty much dead. There should really be a "my guys only" area next to your hero so you'll always have at least one space for summoning your dudes. Otherwise it's a really fun game.
I don't understand why EXITING a duel costs energy. Wouldn't it make more sense if it cost energy to ENTER a duel? Here's an example of what I mean: I'm out of energy, after just finishing a duel. I move back to an area I've been at before to remind myself "work on the challenges for *this* space next time you play." I get ambushed on the way there and my opponent gets a ridiculous start. I try to exit, so I don't have to sit there and get clobbered by "Mr Lucky Draw," but I can't. My choice is either quit out entirely or get clobbered in the duel. Guess which one I pick?
The revive seems buggy. A couple times the glove's been clearly in the red but I still die at the first revive. Otherwise awesome game. Death to hippos!
That doesn't sound right! I play with a female avatar as well. Can you shoot us a message with more details? IE which stage this was in?
