For the Cactus' shoots, just turn to the element he's firing, and it won't be a problem. I changed to the right element and started to take the entire salvo in the face in order to control his movement by recoil, and I didn't take noticable damage.
The voice acting is cheesy, and you'll never win any points from my by using the Diablo-font... Besides, a pointer towards the other fighters on the battlefield would be nice, as it often is a guess which way to go once you spawn.
I would have rated this as high as 5, if there was some way to know where you were going, and what the level would bring. I hate these games where it's impossible to plan a route, since you din't know what's right around the corner...
For survival, remember two tricks:
It's one long battle, so if you take buff powers, they stay with you untill you die!! That makes rangers 'natures balm' (increased regeneration for your heroes) a very good choice. Likewise, conjurers summoned monsters stay untill they die. However, the second thing is, that curse is horrible. Orc shamans cast curse on you, and you're stuck with it!
Altars:
“mundane becomes extraordinary”: changes one normal item (white or grey) into a unique item.
"temporary becomes permanent": changes some of your potions (I think it was minor healing) into permanent +stat-potions (I got 5 minor healing to 1 +5 str/+5 end.) So make sure you have the right items in your inventory before using altars.
There seems to be some minor problems with the recommended items. Poison resistance is, in my opinion, overrated by the AI in its calculations of the best item to use. But it's really minor, and won't keep me from handing out a welldeserved 5/5.
I see some flaws in this game: a) In contrast to the other ragdoll games, hits from most weapons kills you outright. This removes the fun where you see your ragdoll getting slowly blown to bits before he dies. b)While on the subject of dying, it happens a lot (and that's fine) but the respawn time is to long. c)And why have the enemy get blown slowly to bits. Most of them, except those firespitting ones, have several firing parts: How about them slowly being shot of. That would give a greater sense of achievement than the smoke, which seems to do nothing but indicate damage (and even poorly at that).
*BUMP*
In case you have trouble finding Crowflights AWESOME strat Crowflight: Level 18 May. 07, 2008 Apocalypse strategy - Start by building 5 Ion Cannon on top row with bunker behind each one. Upgrade 3 Ion Cannon to level 2. Research Economics and build one Economic center. Upgrade 1 Ion Cannon to level 3. Upgrade Economic Center to level 2. Alternate between upgrading the remaining Ion Cannons to level 3 and building and upgrading another Economic center. When you have 3 level 3 Ion Cannon research Nuclear and alternate between building missile complex and economic centers. (Always upgrade fully before starting a new building). When you have 4 or 5 fully upgraded missile complexes you should have a decent enough income to research missile defense and planet shield. Upgrade everything to max. Sell off the economic centers and build more defenses. Tip: Always have a bunker next to (not diagonally) your defensive buildings to give full protection to your population.
