And yes, I know how to turn the sound off, I just disagree with having to exit a game to go back to the Main Menu to shut it off. Not that I was doing anything useful in game anyway... The level 1 tower should be able to 1-shot every critter in the first wave. Then move on up. The balancing needs serious work. 2/5
I give up. I fail at strategy gaming, apparently. Despite years of loving TD games, I can't beat a single level in this game. Well, besides the tutorial levels. Tutorial finishes, I start a Straight Through game, Normal. Line up towers just the way the tutorial did... and I've yet to beat it. Failed 6 times now. Apparently I fail at BTTD games. I will have to blame myself and my lameness, since obviously others aren't having this issues (judging by the comments). Guess I'll go back to Gemcraft or something. I'll try a few more times before rage quitting, but I won't rate it, since obviously it's just me. Still getting more and more frustrated. Kinda thought games were supposed to start wicked simple and ramp up. Guess that's why I'm not a developer.
Alright, I'll give credit where it's due, this one isn't bad and, like the others, slightly different. Doesn't knock my socks off, but it's not bad. I won't whine too hard, I certainly do a game as good. 3/5
Seriously, don't you get bored of this format? I mean, you've got pancakes, burgers, pizza, tacos... what's next, buffalo wings? ... wait, what's that? There... is? *sigh* I have an idea, take some professional cooking classes and make a game where you make "gourmet" food for a mid-to-high end restaurant. :P "Apply the foie gras to the plate *just* right..."
If you added the ability to set X # of auto-fights and pick certain Rage skills to auto-use when enough rage is generated or under certain circumstances, you'd have yourself one awesome idler.
The biggest problem with the resetting monsters is that if you leave and come back, it's hard to know where you were and what you're trying to do. Hell, that's hard to do just playing it from the start. Been wandering around aimlessly for an hour and I think I'm just going to ... try something else. I got the two keys and BOTD. What does Gust do? There's no explanation for what it's special affect might be.
What I love in a game is when you're going along, the game is getting gradually more challenging, offering more ways to get through the enemies and challenges... and then BAM super monster appears and kills you instantly. And there's nothing you can do about it. At all. Nothing. No way you could have done better, no way you could've prepared for it, literally nothing you can do. Love it! I'mma keep playing 'cause I'm a freakin' masochist apparently. No, wait, just the opposite. 2/5
I highly recommend anyone who has even the slightly bit of potential chance of having a seizure, or if it runs in the family at all, play with a leather belt in their mouth, or mouth guard of some sort. Don't want to go biting off your tongue.
