Between the candles, the speedups, the attack dogs, the coffins, and now (end of day 7), fridges that block off the back and too tall to jump on barriers in front... I get the impression that Uncle Rico *really* doesn't like Billy very much.
I thought it was clever to clear a path through probable Gas Geysers via Dynamite, and stood out of range of both Dynamite and all gas offshoots... Either not clever enough, or too clever, as I proceeded to die anyway. :(
It's very... cute that my guy with 350 melee attack, >=100 magic attack insists on attempting to fireball the beholders. But mostly this results in him getting (nearly) killed every fight, when just meleeing would be so much more effective. Is there some way to set attack type %'s or something?
I have to say, I was expecting something different, from a game with JRPG in the title. And, honestly? I fail to see what makes this game "RPG style" as it even lacks persistant upgrades, which is a common function devs use to claim "rpg style" for their games. As a Tower Defense, it seems decent enough, but the rpg claim sticks in my craw.
Having played the 1st set of levels, I've learned this: If I didn't win in the 1st shot, then I need to hit the reset button, as I'll probably lose before my 2nd shot anyway. Also, those collections for "+1 (anything) on all levels" are thoroughly useless for the same reason... unless it guarantees at least 1 of that ammo type on every level?
For Instructions, a list of what keys do what actions would be useful. For example, there is *probably* a button to jump, but W isn't it, despite what the Double Jump skill description implies. Perhaps W allows Double Jump, but pressing W isn't allowing me to (single) Jump, so...?
Wasted a few shuriken trying to figure out what the controls were.
Perhaps an option to change the controls? Numpad1 is not so bad, but J is highly inconvenient, on my keyboard, in relation to the blue knight controls. Even were there 2 people playing this at once (instead of just me), the spread in keys for the blue knight would lead to serious keyboard crowding, for 2 people. As it stands, I can either move both knights, *and* attack with the red, or i can move the blue and attack with the blue.
How odd. Somewhere in listening to the music, I thought "Magus the Propagation!" Which probably means nothing to anyone else. Anyway: where does the music come from? I now want a copy.
Having a "freebie" freeze/zap to begin with would help some. Also, the jumping is highly annoying, since, even with 2 jump upgrades purchased, it's still impossible to jump over enemies, if you've run out of attacks for the moment. If you jump, you go up, and then you *immediately* come back down. Horizontal movement while jumping is virtually impossible. Thus, you can't jump over enemies, you can't jump out of the way, and even jumping to platforms is difficult.
yeah I do that :) ....with a shield on your best bet is to sit right in the middle of all the enemies, of course you need to get out of there before the shield runs out.
Given that the enemy movement is significantly faster than both your movement speed and fire rate by Lv30 or so, methinks there was a large luck factor in my reaching Lv100. The wide bullets may have helped, also.
