It's a good shooter, I'm just not too impressed with the way money from killed enemies flies AWAY FROM YOU, and the shop items really could be better. +1'ing to the "invulnerable enemies until they shoot" annoyance. I can see it with bosses, but really, the mediocre enemies? It makes it impossible to be efficient (and in some cases, keep a chain going).
Also, the hit zone is in a spot that isn't easy to visualize. If it was the fyre's head it'd be easier, I think.
Also, I agree with Harleagh. The solution is to increase the size of the items' hitbox (invisble) based on how fast you're going, OR to move items their size multiple times (calling hit test after every move) per frame; though you can reduce the number of hittests by estimating where the turtle is relative to the item and the direction of travel (up/down vs. left)
Anyway, I think this game is borderline terrible due to the fact that as a mage I simply can not deal with anything but the first two dungeons, the others just outright kill me (500 HP monsters verus my 150 doing 25 damage to my 15-20)
Drakelord: what was your combat attack value? Most mages have a 0 to 5, depending on how much they train combat and how little they work as a fortune teller.
Gold Cannon + Rocket + Flying Mine = Awesome Failure
The turtle was impaled on a rocket and on the spikey ball while flying along at some insane rate (and only 46,000 feet into the launch!)
I signed a peace treaty with green, and the moment they took purple they turned on me with no warning. I was not aware that they decided to consider me an enemy!
And that was the closest game I came to winning too.
Much improvement on the original, though I think it's still _very_ easy. I've nearly completed an episode on frantic difficulty (I think the last boss was the one to do me in).
Still, I liked the old card system better.
Never buy the cheapest turret unless you're shy of the second one and need more gunfire on an elevator. Immediately sell during next purchase phase.
I made it to day 12 before buying any upgrades (except a level 4 machine gun and a level 2 machine gun that I don't recall ever upgrading...).
Can't get attack jump to work. Game lists the combo as forward, down, attack, but "down" doesn't do anything and forward, up, attack only makes me attack while in the air.
Some of these in-game achievements are crazy difficult. 48 pickups on a map where jumps send you past 4 of them? Or 65 seconds on Moon #3? DEAR LORD, make it 70 seconds, 70 seconds I can do, but 65 requires--apparently--more boost than I can figure out how to get. Even got boot 2 twice and still only made 69 seconds (no crashes). That one triple hill is a speed killer.
