Seems like a great start, mechanics work nicely and highly responsive controls. I was a bit surprised there was only one 'true' level which seemed to have been the whole game itself. I hope you consider fleshing this out with a proper level system. I think one of your biggest obstacles may be balancing - I found the first part with the rotating platforms a nightmare, and it made me wonder how hard the rest would be if this was stage one, and yet the path to the exit was incredibly easy to navigate. So yes, more levels, expanding on your story with a reasonable difficulty curve and this could be an amazing thing one day :) Good luck!
Very well made, the responses to clicks are so smooth even in quick succession, which is pretty essential for a reflex/twitch game like this. Nice music choice. I would like it a lot more if there was a levels mode, with this as a 'survival' option, as I don't feel there's much motive to keep playing other than ball unlocks at the moment. If you had a levels system, not only would there be goals but you have an opportunity to create some great puzzles and challenges here. It would also make unlocks feel less grindy. I hope you expand on this, I'd give it 3/5 as there's not much gameplay for me personally, but I'm going to give it a 4/5 for its potential. Great start, you clearly know what you're doing mechanics wise. Another thing that might be good is implementing a keyboard option alternative to clicking, but I don't know how that would translate in your game. Good luck! :)
Glad you still make these, I quite enjoyed the first one :) Nothing really new to the game but the puzzles and mechanics are once again solid. Would have been nice to have had some music but not really essential. I'm determined that the yellow balls hate me the most ;)
Pasting a chopped version of my message on your profile as I want to show my support here, too. Adding my voice to those that are sad you changed the name of Isis, particularly as she is a Goddess in my faith. (Faith most likely irrelevant, mentioning it to show I empathise with the situation) I refuse to let that group affect how I say her name. If it’s not too late, I’d advise sticking to what you wanted, and instead messaging people who are too ignorant to differentiate between the two (I mean ffs, Isis = name, ISIS = acronym) then you could message them with a copy-pasted explanation, instead of why you changed the name. Please don’t back down, I feel in doing this you are only allowing IS to further the fear. If you don’t go back to what you wanted, I won’t agree but I will understand why you don’t want the hassle, and won’t think less of you. Just know that myself, and judging by your profile messages many others, will stand by you.
Black screen on Chrome, refreshing, clicking and right-clicking don't work. This sounded interesting, so I hope you can get it fixed soon :) Good luck!
Now and again, after all these years, I still close my eyes and play 'Incarnadine' from the OST when I need some escapism, to soothe me, and to drown out aggravating noises. It takes me back to the feel of this game, and even without this game as context it's an incredibly beautiful piece of music. I already commented on the game itself in 2011, but I just wanted to add the appreciation I still have for it and the joy/bittersweet sadness it brings. Wishing you all the best with the future, whatever it may be and bring.
I was pleasantly surprised by this! :) Although it's very short, it was a sweet little timewaster and I enjoyed the dialogue. Hopefully one day you'll expand on this, if you do please add a manual save. Also, it may be an idea to group items of the same type such as pencils with a quantity counter so we can easily track our progress. Good luck with the future! :)
I understand sticking with your vision in terms of keeping integrity as a developer, but you're now doing it to the point where it's at the expense of respect and enjoyment from your players. I also severely doubt it's for any honourable reason any more and that you're either in severe denial, arrogant about your Sentry Knight franchise, or both. As others have said there is no denying that they are very well made, aesthetically lovely and with nice music, but there is nothing else. If you just listened to us and made the game itself more interesting and ironed out the several annoyances, it would easily be 5/5 and I'd have eagerly added my vote to Greenlight. I'd give it a 3 but as this keeps going on, I can't give it more than 2. Please don't become another MARTINIRosso in the way you treat your player/fanbase. If you want to get Greenlit, show us you deserve it.
There's a bug where if you complete a level, the timer stays at 0 and the game is frozen, with enemy boxes floating up a little. Muting and un-muting works fine, it first happened on the level with the ninjas, browser Chrome in case any of that helps. Doesn't really bring anything new to the genre but it was pretty solid, it's a great start and I hope you grow as a dev :) Nice music choice as well, by the way.
Seems likes a good start for a nice game. The only problem I have is that there's a delay between placing the blocks, and even if you click slightly ahead of them lining up you still lose part of it. Otherwise, a pretty nice basis, 3/5
Oh goodness my brain, what a wonderful concept, with great execution and puzzles to make it a truly complete, mind-boggling puzzle game. Also love the little messages you get for each level, some really made me laugh with that great sense of 'sadistic dev' humour ;D Ones where there's that voice in your head going 'DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DOOO' and 'I'M TRYIN' HERE' You know it's going to be great when the sense of reward you get for beating level 3 alone makes you feel like that. 5/5, hope this gets the recognition it deserves. One thing I would like is a level select button,as as far as I can see the only button on the UI is the mute. Maybe some mutable atmospheric music would be nice, not exactly essential but would be nice to have it there. I can feel weird parts of my brain being exercised and it's rare to find puzzle games that do that, Z-Rox is a great example of a puzzle game that makes your head feel this way.
Great concept and I'm really intrigued to see what you do with this, I agree with pretty much everything np03 said though, the execution needs a lot of work to stop the gameplay from being aggravating when it wasn't a mistake on the players part but crazy collisions. Sometimes I'll have been hovering over a ledge perfectly and after I've switched, the character is suddenly randomly jammed in the centre of the other ledge and dies. Going to give it a 3/5 in the hoped others will see this and might be able to offer technical advice, but yeah - with polish, we're talking 4-5 star game.
It's great, but could you please implement an export save feature? All idles should really have one, given how they run pretty much indefinitely. This would also solve your save problems as people would be able to back-up their own files. A great example of save back-up is the clicker heroes system as you don't have to manually do anything other than save the text file, but if that's not possible then please at least give us a copy+pasteable save code. Apart from that, it's a pretty lovely idler :)
The graphics and atmosphere are wonderful, this game had a lot of promised but it still needs a lot of work. The character walks far to slow, may I suggest adding a sprint option perhaps by holding space? If you can't do that then maybe just make him walk at least twice as fast.
The map looks great but we really need a clear 'you are here' marker, with the low area of vision it makes it very difficult to decipher where you are when some places look the same in the dark. Last but not least, please give us an unlimited 'continue' and 'save' option! After dying out of curiosity the first time, I didn't really have much will to continue given the other issues. Please keep working on this, it's a great start and I'm excited to see what you do with it. Please send circular game messages if you implement anything new as I'd love to give this a proper play one day :) 3/5 for the idea and hopefully you'll get more suggestions and help.
Ah, ignore my last comment about implementing a save on this game, I just noticed this is a taster of the Capital and you'll be uploading a new game soon. Please make sure you implement an export system on there, though. It's vital to idle games. The Capital looks beautiful by the way, really exited to see what you do with it.
I will try to find how to do that, i'm not sure its possible with stencyl but i will take a look with the new coder and see if he got any idea of how to do that
One time I died, the character just stayed there translucent without being able to move or attack, but I could access the inventory. Nothing in-game fixed it so I clicked 'quit game' (WITHOUT refreshing because I was afraid of data loss if it were a bug) successfully quit to menu, it had lost all my save data :( Was approaching lvl 13, had my main skills past 15, and was fighting in the prison. After all that grind (which I wouldn't have minded, if it kept the data) just makes me unwilling to start a new game :( This game would be great if the bugs were ironed out and the char walked faster. I've noticed this is titled as the 3rd... perhaps you should fix current games before making sequels. 2/5, with fixed bugs and fixed save system, could have been 4 to 5/5
Loving it so far, definitely one of the best idles I've played, but could we please have an export save feature? I would hate to lose everything due to a browser mishap. 4/5, will update to 5/5 once there's an export :)
Very pretty graphics, nice atmosphere and tight responsive controls (thought movement may be a tad slow) Would love to see an expansion in this, perhaps have this as a survival mode, and have a separate levels system (maybe even upgrades?) 4/5, nearly gave it 3 as I prefer a progression system rather than just beating previous highscores through survival, but I can't wait to see how this evolves and your future games.
Thanks!
