@Xervicx (escaped zombies at the border) I think that was probably to fix one of my biggest complaints with the last game - enemies that would get to the very end and then stand too close to hit, so you were stuck in the tower defense mode until they finally moved off the screen (or backed up so you could shoot them)
@Aswissrole - the AI is comparing every possible unit it could buy at that point to see which is the best option. From each factory it owns. It has to test all the possible combinations - so, if it has two factories, one of each control, and one factory is on water, it has to try around 200 possible combinations (remember that commando + tank is different from tank + commando - which factory matters!) or so. That only gets worse at higher factory (or factory-on-water) counts and more money available... and probably at higher difficulties, as it likely thinks harder about the choices.
....it appears to be unplayable now. Too bad I didn't get the badge while you could still finish campaign missions. Repeated drops mid-session, no way to progress...
so, I can't find the bug report button, and I didn't get the badge. Not sure what I'd report anyway, as it just starts you over with no way to prove you'd won. I can haz badge please, Kongregate admins?
Some of the missions should remember if you've already completed them. My fourth mall is doing much better than I expected and I sent $100,000 to an older mall... and THEN I got a mission to send at least $50,000 to an older mall. And now I have to wait a week in game to do so. The 3x speed option is still going to take me quite a while to get there.
@AcornLove - there are villagers? After getting attacked on sight walking out of the first cave by several monsters, I started killing first and asking questions later. That's ok though, after a while of wandering around I found a place with a weird red bubble... moused over it, cursor never turned red, thought it was not a bad guy... walked closer slowly... then life started dropping and I could hear gunshots but not see them. After I died, I discovered that when viewed from a different angle, you can actually see the turret firing at you, just not when you're looking at straight at it.
@Mazgazine1 - Like they scream the first time it happens, the monster can instantly devour any unit on any row that's not on top of a tower, although he does it fairly rarely. Stand your guys on towers to protect them from the instant-kill.
I liked the game, but the YouTube vids keep failing to load and won't give a skip button when that happens. T_T can't rate higher than 2/5 for a game I can't play, even though the concept seems awesome. The first few levels were fun, anyway. But beating the level that unlocks Swarm mode just breaks it.
this game would be fairly awesome if the later leveling was slightly faster (right now it's SO grindy, I'm just repeating Stonehenge for a while now... on my fourteenth straight repetition) and a slightly higher level cap. Right now, it's tough to get a single ability to optimum, much less giving a hero two "modes" to operate in. The apprentices can switch modes better than the heroes. Also, maybe better descriptions of the spells? The Mage and Necromancer both have spells that say they damage everything in range, and don't even remotely do so. Most of them only very rarely hit two targets, even if there are six in range.
I can't find anything to do on the level with the jeep and the ramp and the long drop. I've clicked everything, moved, clicked everything again, got in the jeep, clicked everything, moved the jeep, and clicked everything again.
intro... so loud... maybe one of those neat pre-splash mute buttons? notDoppler's splash screen seems to have named for the trains you can observe the Doppler effect on :P
@MrSister: To get a leader, set a Waypoint and direct your men to go to the waypoint. The first one to arrive will take a moment or two and then become a leader.
level 3 was tough for me too, sibkid. I didn't know you had to flatten land to make your army stronger - there's nothing about how settlements work in the game, I found out by accident.
methinks a bit more detail about how to make settlements work might have been nice. I'm having trouble beating mission three because I really don't know how to make my army beat theirs. Considering looking up this "Populous" to see what I'm missing...
