I lost a game with a Gravity Gun shot onscreen. I returned to the title, and some of the picnickers were killed by the gravity shot as it continued across the screen. xD
BTW; I ♥ Elona Shooter -- for being so damn difficult.
I was liking it until "The Machine." Click? Hold? Click/hold various things until something...? Awbleepit. Rating withheld due to not caring enough to make a tenth attempt.
I've been waiting for a game like this, and I should have known it would be Digyourowngrave that would provide it. 5+fave, although it seems a little flat after realizing how limited my strategic options are. One strong suggestion: resource purchasable SOFTWARE upgrades, such as advanced targeting [switches the turret to the next target after firing enough to destroy it], lock distance [or a rockets -> missiles upgrade], or a slider to change the lock-on distance. Of course, that would mean we need more levels... ☺
Pure projectiles was a lot of fun on MMM1, but with 37 energy, 26 stability, and max projectiles, this campaign ends on level 23. Even with one antimater projectile left in the launcher, 5 points earned in the level, and a nuke on my cursor, I can't do this. What a pity.
Oddly I'm having problems saving on MMM3 instead. #4 saves fine on Opera for me. About MMM3/4, this one is a combination of all of the four weapons from #3. Nifty, eh? Hey Retrobus -- wow... Thank you for the warning; I ran into my own antimatter projectile, with max shield in overdrive, with ALMOST your score...
Just for clarification, I meant low ratings. Low Suvival/Armageddon scores are my specialty [my 600-something record is just the result of many hours of enjoyment].
Why so many low scores... And why is Survival mode so unpopular? It's a lot of fun. Start careful, move up and down, take good opportunities, be cautious and know your limit -- if it gets too hot, back off until things cool down some. Kind of reminds me of some other activity I used to perform... Either way it still ends with getting sucked into a black hole [and that reminds me of the problem MMM1+2 had with nuke trucks and catapulted things].
I'm gonna have to four this since the game IS both a little too easy and a little too hard. Some tactical AI reworking and maybe a few other maps would guarantee a place for this game in my favorites.
What does this guy mean, no relation between skill and success...? Fortify one corner, snipe other areas [which is tricky with the plasma cannon, but rewarding], when you see an opening, move out for supplies. Missiles are to retaliate against groups that venture into your fort, because later on, they can blow you away in a hurry.
This was a solo project? Excellent. So far, the obstacle evasion movement throws me off a bit, but isn't bad, and I'm glad sniper-esque weapons become available, and add a more tactical element than simply machine-gunning at everything. I'm bookmarking this to check it out later at the least.
I've played Shift, and hated it intensely. No offense, Shift fans. Now, if someone tells me about a game with a brilliant STORY like this, I might concede to claims of unoriginality [and I'll play that other game too, ASAP].
It took me a while to warm up to this one, but one thing still stands out -- why is it impossible to get to level 27?! I had to devise a strategy just to get 10K exp with five missions left, and I won't even be CLOSE by the time I finish my second campaign. And hey newbies to the series -- good things CAN be good, bad things CAN be bad -- use them both to your advantage, THAT'S the appeal of the series.
Kind of slow and glitchy -- upon placing my third heat ray tower in the first level, the second-placed heat ray tower vanished, replaced with a blank unwalkable, unselectable square. I'm withholding rating, because this just ain't right [yet].
Well I finally found the graphics and sound options. They were just cleverly hidden. But, good as this game is, there are only trace elements of the flexibility I loved from the previous MMM titles.
No audio options? Dz, you've been a favorite of minesince the START, but... good god man! What gives?!?! Okay, looking beyond... Upgrade paths: "stupid" and "smart." ... UGH! I'm sorry. I really am. 3/5.
