Better than meatboy in every way possible (maybe apart from graphics style, draw there). Smoother controls and better level design, this is what good jumpers should be like.
It has a lot of potential, but at the moment it's a good reason to keep being tired of shooters. It makes some of the biggest mistakes in the genre, like walking over a gun of the same type as you using atm not refilling ammo, enemies walking around where you can't see them due to the camera angle, quests that are needed for the already extremely grindy lvl gain being of the type you can't do since the weapon isn't unlocked (I got the SMG one as second new quest) and so much more. Shame, really.
I really want to like this game, but the amount of randomness is killing it for me. Regularly having zeppelins blocking waypoints so you keep failing missions combined with you touching them meaning death most of the time as you keep being stuck to them makes this overall more annoying than fun inducing. A pity really, I liked the first one as well as the concept of this.
Like the first two editions of this game, this also has the issue of being too nitpicky about what happens with which command in what situation, causing a lot of unnecessary restarting despite having the idea figured out, which in turn leads to frustration.
While not having a new concept is no crime by itself, in combination with bad controls, clipping issues and the like it is making this game completely undesirable to play.
Nicely made game, audio tracks are a bit short, though. Also, having to include spelling advice in hints probably should've made you realize a less restrictive name recognizing might've been in order.
Some of the throws you have to make to get a gold score are way too tedious. None of the changes from the original, which I liked, did actually improve the game imo. Ball timer is too short, having to hit the refs to clear a level feels off and overall I was somewhat disappointed with this follow-up. That said, it's not a bad game by any means, just a lot less fun than the first.
Lvl 13 is somewhat of a bad design, as the word gets removed anyway (and thereby the lvl should be completed). Apart from that, very nice idea and execution of a game.
That update should read: Decreased chance to meet Dragon before day 10. I have yet to get further than day 12 since I keep running into one of those, and they are just not fun.
This series reminds me of the Police Academy movies, fun for a part or two, but getting old very fast. At least the producers of this keep up the art quality, but the game itself is rather on the weak side. Also the mix of arrows and doors you have to click to move around is the worst I've ever encountered in a point n click.
It's a good foundation, but at the moment there are three main issues that keep it from being an excellent game.
1. The numerous bugs (with spells especially)
2. The game auto-discarding items it considers less worthy, robbing you off any possibility to gear towards a certain attribute or two
3. Moving into a room with three elementals and getting killed by their spells before having a chance to do anything about it.
Overall I like this game, but my enjoyment of the game took a serious dent when I noticed you're having an automatic disease death by turn 11. It is frankly more than annoying. Also it makes me wonder how many other harmful events are scripted instead of randomly determined, which in turn somewhat ruins the very idea of this game, namely dealing with random events instead of knowing you need building x by day y to avoid z.
While I didn't encounter any bugs in the handful missions I played before getting bored, I do not see this game as more than average. Also, I rarely wanted my alter ego to die as much as I want in this game due to her immature, annoying phrases she drops at each wave.
I'm not sure a species that manages to regularly miss hitting turtles (which aren't known for their agility on land), can't walk around obstacles to (literally) save their lives and explodes when they're too hungry deserves being supported.
As a free game it would be really fun to play and would have a good chance to be in the top 5. As this money-ripping construct I certainly can't be bothered to play it, there are just as good (and better) games on this site I don't have to pay for to enjoy. Shame really, it has potential, but due to the system the creators chose it's just a 1/5 from me.
bugs are fixed now.
