Challenge 6 was tough, but the trick is to sacrifice health to destroy some orbs into ammo as fast as possible. The invulnerability period is surprisingly long -- it will take about half the time limit before you could die even with constant orb bashing.
I wonder whether the author played his own game... nothing like completing an annoying quest just to get a pathetic weapon. And the combat is so repetitive.
What do you mean, a launcher game where you maneuver to avoid obstacles and collect things, as opposed to blindly flying at 20 screens per second and relying on luck? What sort of launch game is this?
I too couldn't do lvl 16 until lowering the quality and refreshing. Got to the fridge with a couple seconds to spare, but couldn't get out. With the lowered quality, got there with 27 seconds to spare, and more importantly the fridge opened.
I'd rather be able to eat that turkey leg. I'm not even sure I could have gotten my share of turkey leg drops without tier 2 gear, which is about equivalent to 35 attack and -3 speed weapon.
If you're just starting, know that you'll be wasting almost all your action points if you complete missions, since they refill when you gain a level. If you prefer, you can explore safe areas and loot all the stuff, before completing mission.
It's too easy. Too easy to avoid being hit, too many shields to have to even worry about it, too much health in case you do. Too easy to recharge rage meter on later levels, so that you can constantly rage if there are enough enemies on screen. Too easy to kill a boss using rage. Only thing that isn't too easy is collecting all those coins, since the magnet doesn't seem to work behind you.
To beat final boss: use fully upgraded pulse attack. For most of boss' attacks, you want to keep right near the thorns that fire bullets -- if you are close enough, none of the attacks except missiles and pulse can reach you there. There's a nice big gap towards the right of the boss where you'll be safe. This works even against the bullet storm, but you'll have to move slowly to each side as the bullet direction rotates to avoid being hit, while not getting close enough to the boss to collide. Other than that, the pulse attacks are easy to dodge since they go straight down from the glowing tips. The missiles take some skill, just remember to bunch them and draw them away from your escape paths and you'll be fine.
