Sadly, another upgrade-to-win game. You don't have enough maneuverability nor reaction time to use any skill, except for the first few launches. Then it's launch, continuous rocket, wait a while, helmet, followed by hope you don't hit anything. A radar would help somewhat.
The ability to farm mana makes the game arbitrarily easy, even the game boss can be beaten on the first turn. On the other hand, you don't know what a fight will be like until you enter it, so it pays to be prepared.
Currently (2-28-2014), the easiest way to increase population in larger cities is via humidity. This is important mainly to reach the 1 mil population for future city. You can zoom with scroll wheel to make those pixels visible.
This game will queue your jumps until they are completed, even if you quintuple jump. A good way to get yourself killed is to accidentally jump while midair. Fortunately, you can cancel an ill-advised jump by pressing down.
I wish the game would tell the sum of all the numbers, so I didn't have to add up an 8X8 grid of numbers in my head every level. Otherwise, I have no idea what number to combine with the multiply/divide/invert. I know I can just mash most of the numbers together to have less to add and restart the level, but that just feels wrong.
Suggestion for better default state: growth if far from any enemy, assault if close to an enemy, defense if close to more than one enemy which is being attacked by an ally. On harder difficulty, your plants are half-dead before you can switch their state.
