semi-bug: casting spells such as force of nature summon at start of battle, then you can wait to regenerate mana. This is kind of annoying -- the spell should be auto-cast, the mana regenerate instantly, or no mana regeneration.
OK, we've successfully boarded the ship, and we've got room in our fleet for another ship. What should we do? Captain: Sink that ship! If I wanted another ship, I'd have bought one at the store like the good pirate I am!
I reached the afterlife, and all I got was a lousy "press Z to continue" screen. Then I respawned with three health. What sort of scam are they trying to pull, where did my afterlife go?!?
In case you're wondering, the torture ends on lvl 20 I think it was. Having a ranged weapon seems to be useful for boss, who seems to spawn 4 crystals containing potions at each phase, if you destroyed the previous crystals. I ended the game with 3 extra lives, plus my original.
Some of the commenters seem to have forgotten the last part of the test, "Remember, this is an alien IQ test, so don't compare it to other Human IQ tests you might know"
Note that until level 12, the barricade upgrade gives you more XP (20 XP each) than the learning upgrade (5% each). Though it will be a little earlier if you got some barricade upgrades, and later if you take more damage.
I'd like a sound effect for shield recharged. Also, it would be nice to see on the character (ie, where we're looking) which of our abilities can be used.
This game really needs to cope better with mouse out of screen. Paralyzed in one spot is annoying enough, but if you were near the edge of the screen it also means it is annoying when you're trying to dodge a lot of stuff.
Ouch! They can certainly throw a wrench in the best thought out plans. I often use portals as ways to double up my supply lines. It's allot harder for any single random event to hit both my portal line and my normal line on the same turn.
Allied troop movements should be faster animations, and easier to implement (eg drag-drop shortcut, with default to move all troops, and optionally to have a waypoint system for farther travel). When starting a battle, troop deployment should automatically set melee in front, range in back, and we can change it if we have a better plan.
Yes, the barricade giving you exp was put in quite late in the development. It was because most of my testers never bothered to upgrade barricade.
