This is a pretty good interpretation of the "match 3" genre. However, there were several cases where I had at least one match left and it stopped, saying I had none left. That was bad...and frustrating. Also, when games get progressively harder (like this one) having a limited number of continues really diminishes replay value. If I want to play again, I have to start at the beginning. Well...wait a second. I can start at level 20 (where I died) but then why have limited retries in the first place? Other than that, pretty good! (4 stars)
Has potential. Hit detection needs work. Some terrain features would be nice. Currently there's little reason to move around much...easier just to sit and take it while and kill the enemy first. If you're making a simulation, the tanks accelerate much too quickly and stop too suddenly (IMO).
I would like to type in the letters from the keyboard rather than having to use the mouse. Since the letters don't need to be adjacent, I see no reason for this. Also, have the "enter" key input the word would be helpful. The game is fun! I think it's a great start.
I like the new units. (I'm not convinced that the game NEEDED new units...I would have probably preferred more branches in the scenario tree.)
The scroll buttons in the corners and sides I felt were much too large and elaborate given their purpose. Some of the terrain icons that pop up when you select a unit (movement range, firing range, etc.) were also a bit too elaborate...simple red and green circles or arcs would be enough. The Bernhardt typeface for the dialog and such doesn't work very well for the longer narratives. The illustrations and overall UI design are EXCELLENT, just like the first one.
The racing part of the game...which should be the MAIN part of the game...is great. The shopping, challenging, negotiating and traveling parts are so bugged that it's not even worth going into all the details.
The game is fun but there were a few weird things. It's not difficult to win by just almost constantly spamming the pass key...the ball will push forward and you're more likely to get a goal that way than by some calculated, precise play. Also, the ball carrier is sometimes hard to spot when things are hectic. (Guess that's like real football.) I wouldn't mind if the plays were slower to allow for more precise tactics. Finally, some indication of how many points were put into ugrades would be nice.
Yeah, I can't figure out the Little Forest level either. I've tried all sorts of combos. Nothing seems to work...it all either breaks down on the 12th or the last wave. It's much more difficult than many of the "difficult" levels.
Fun. Mighty short though. I should say, as far as adventure games goes, I think this does something really well. All of the puzzles are pretty intuitive which is REALLY refreshing!
To go along with the polar bear/penguin folks...check out how unrealistic the penguins are! Like...a red penguin? I'm so sure. Plus the fish are completely inaccurate.
Gentle Push is done like this: Knock the globs off the three blocks so they fall. When you have ALL of the goo, use it to jet to the top ledge and the exit. It will probably take a number of times to time your jet up to the top.
I got to become a Stripling Captain and it just stopped. I don't know if I "won" or what. I think this "game" is some kind of product advertisement...and it's not doing the toy much justice.
It's a pretty solid effort but needs some more variety. Here's where I got hung up. Are the bugs any different or more resistant to certain towers than others? Four towers is not enough variety to hold a player's interest for hundreds of waves. The upgrade limits were a little misleading...I only get a certain TOTAL amount of upgrade? Some indication of how many upgrades a tower has left would be good. It's pretty fun for a basic TD game and doesn't seem broken...though maybe it's a bit easy.
Not bad. First, there's no way to tell which play is which color...so that could be improved. Also, reinforcing at the end of your turn isn't clear (how do I do it?). Some kind of in-game chat would be nice just to coordinate and make deals...as an option. It would be nice to see the country bonuses, if they exist. (People familiar with the country bonuses have a huge advantage over those that don't.) The card-matching deal is also unclear to those who don't know RISK. All things consider, it's a fun, fast version of the game...pretty good!
Love this game. Fast playing, easy to understand, totally goofy. My only regret is that it's so short. I'd love to see the basic gameplay become the foundation of a larger strategic feature.
Interesting how a game that looks so promising could be so ... unfun to play. Buyables (upgrades), scenario choices, and special powers could all help.
