It's a good game and quite fun. I think that what's holding it back from being addictive is that you have a time limit going, and then very slow animations that are constantly eating it up. Either the clock needs to freeze when you group 3 or more, or else the animation needs to be faster. Especially in chain reactions. But overall, a nice take on a classic idea.
Haha I rember playing this on the arcade machine for 20c a go!! Especially dying at the start of level 2 on the skateboard every time. Nothing has changed :) Not a bad port, but lags for me a bit here on kong. I think the vNes port works better.
Game works well and is fun to play. But only for a while. I think that the start zombie health is way too high and feels tedius pumping 235232 rounds into each one. Also I am never sure if he is aiming off, or if I have to have my curser exactly on the zombie, etc. Maybe more weapon drops and some incentive to really blow away zombies like a kill counter or something.
Nothing wrong with using a tried and tested formula for a game, and yours is very well executed. But perhaps add some new flavour of your own to it besides sounds and animations. One thing that has always worked well on games like this is programming the objects so that if you have destroyed all of the barrels, then no barrels will be generated in the cannon or at the top. Otherwise the game goes on forever and there is not satisfaction of completion.
Good game, but I think the replay value is lost, so I wasn't totally up for grabbing all trophies. I think that when speed goes up, gravity should increase as the little guy takes waaay to long to fall and its not worth going for those cavern fruits anymore because its guaranteed death. Maybe add something as well as speed to add variety and challenge. But overall it got a few plays out of me :)
It was a good game, I didn't realise there was a difference (beside weight) with the missiles until the N/S one on last level. The real let down with the game is that for some reason it seems to focus on waiting, there are slow transitions, you have to watch every single missile completely stop instead of click to reload, after you win you have to wait for a while, etc. The worst being the power bar that you have to wait for instead of just holding the mouse button. If all of the waiting issues were removed, it would be the difference between 2-3/5 to a 4-5/5 (with some extra levels).
Nice little game, I only found lvl 20 challenging however. Maybe if there was an incentive to keep shot numbers down it would help, but as hitman said, the power bar (or aimer) would be good too :)
Great game, well executed with its animations and the music is great too!! My two bugs that kept me from giving 5/5 was awkward keyboard (like everyone else seems to be complaining about) but also that sometimes the same colour would appear on a slightly different line, making my brain have to re-adjust and question itself in a split second. This took me about 6 songs before I noticed what the problem was.
Far out there is a lot of complaint here (as usual). Great game, well worth the high rating it has and badge of the day status. Personally I found it a great blend of challenge and fun (and some brilliant weapon ideas), but if you ever program one of those yellow laggy monster things again that makes me go blind, I will hurt you :)
Getting the 30 sec achievement reminds me of trying to get invincibility on facility back in Goldeneye 64 for Nintendo. Restart restart restart restart, damn Dr Doan is in the wrong room... Restart..
for 19, click the red square at the start of level and then the right side of the blue V just as the giant red circle leaves the screen = 2 clicks, 3 under par!!
