I like it quite a bit, but I just have one question...towards the end, just before the final boss where it says whether or not you have all the health power ups and that you should consider going back and finding them?...are you sure you made it possible to go back and get them? I realize there's portal back to the area before the boss, but when I start getting into the level about 3 floor up there's a room with some red and green force fields and lava that instantly kills you on the floor, and with the configuration of the room, I kinda ended up just giving up around the 8th time I had to make it there and die cause the red thing dragged me into the lava and there's almost no room to maneuver when going back through the level as opposed to going forward. If, in fact, I'm not just crazy and it is really impossible, or borderline so, to get back through that area, then it would probably kind of put a damper on that whole going back and collecting items thing.
Just like in normal minigolf, after a while I get frustrated and just start slamming the ball around. On the other hand, this is one of the damn best looking games I've seen in a long time.
I agree with the youtube bar thing. To be honest, I thought maybe you had some sort of deal with someone to do your music a certain way, but if not you have to realize really a lot of people stream their music these days. I actually don't have a single song on my computer despite the fact I listen to music in one form or another for pretty much the majority of my waking hours.
And so our hero, having slain the mechanical beast and rescued the princess, rides into the sunset on his mighty mule...
It's cool, I got this covered. I attended the bards college in solitude after all.
I seems kind of annoying that when you're trying to get gold you have one of two options; kill enemies cautiously and not get damaged or lose any soldiers and get punished by not having a chance to get all the stars, or run in recklessly getting hit sometimes many times in the process so you can get the stars without the level ending before you're ready...that doesn't seem like a very good system. I'd think maybe something logical, like, ya know, a button or something to say when you're ready would be nice, since it's kind of frustrating going through a level killing every enemy with the least chance for retaliation, while at the same time being careful not to kill anyone and leaving the necessary buildings intact so you can get all the stars later only to finish off the last enemy without realizing it and being forced to do it all over again, only this time without all that caution and strategy you'd think a game like this would be about...
I'd take an army like that...I'd just dive right into the middle of it and let the fuzz envelope my entire being. Then I'd just grab armfuls and hug them and I'd never have to have a bed or blankets ever again. And if any of the little fellows got too old and died I'd just have them skinned and I'd sell the fur to recoup any losses incurred from the "army"s upkeep. They are intensely soft after all...
I'm sure I'm far from the first person to say this, but there needs to be a warning period or you should have to click or something before events like protestors or ex-employees or construction sites start. When you're flying by at a high speed and hit something like that it's not like you have much warning, and often times by the time I figure out what's happening and what I need to do, I'm already about out of time. That mainly goes for the ex-employees, but no matter what one it is there should still be warning before it starts.
aha! The aeronautical hedgehog master I truly am! I made it on the second day, on my second try! Now allow me to enjoy a brief moment basking in a small feeling of accomplishment before the realization sets in that it's really a pointless feat in the grand scheme of things and that, unlike most feats, I'll never be able to go into a bar and say "Hey sweet cheeks. Wanna hear about the one time I shot a hedgehog to mars?...For real? No, not for real, it was in an online game. Impressive, I know. Hey, where are you going?"
Wow, the bosses are ridiculous. I'd like some of whatever you were smoking when you thought "Yeah, I'll make them redo an entire level if, say, they don't understand what the hell I'm talking about with a boss and/or I screw it up and it's buggy! That would be a great idea! Everyone will enjoy that! That absolutely couldn't just result in people getting pissed the hell off and quitting rather than repeatedly playing through entire levels!"...screw you man, screw you. I'm getting ready to break shit after the 3rd boss in a row that's required me to completely redo a level either due to me talking almost all the time I have to figure out what you're asking me to do, or due to bugs. Like...god, what would possess someone to make something like that?
A final thing; speaking of overpowered things, the evasion skill is pretty ridiculous. It just gives you a flat chance to not get hit by bullets...and as far as I can tell, the level of evasion you have in relation to the maximum is the percent chance you have to not get hit by projectiles (I'm not sure about melee, but by later levels meleers don't seem of much concern anyways). So, what I mean is like if you level up the evasion skill until you have ~50% of the maximum level, it looks like you dodge ~50% of projectiles. Needless to say, compared to useless skills like the armor increase, that's a very, very cool bonus. Normally advanced gunners are pretty tough, but when you have, like, 75% evasion, they're nothin'. If you're still paranoid, throwing 4 armed rotator bots on that will make you neigh impervious. Granted, they can be disabled if they take enough hits, but they're good early on especially.
Oh god, and why would you make it so everything automatic fires in bursts? After seeing all these obvious, completely glaring flaws, I have to ask...what's wrong with you? I normally avoid saying things like that, but what would possess you to look at some of these things, and say "Yes, that is how I want my game to be. Nobody will have a problem with that.". Did you give the game to someone else before releasing it? Cause I feel like any other person would say the exact same things we're all saying here. I mean, it's obvious that you put work into the game as it looks pretty nice and all, but then why wouldn't you go the extra yard to make sure that that work wasn't ruined by all sorts of easily avoidable annoyances?
I guess I'm a little confused as to why you felt the need to not let us see skills before they're available; how am I supposed to know that it would be worth it to work up to getting, say the evasion skill when I have no idea what exactly it's supposed to do? Then, on top of it, you made it so that you can't reset skills, so even if I did work up to some skill to find that it's really not very useful, my only option would be to restart the game...and make armor worth more (or whatever the issue with it is). The final hull is a wonderful illustration of just how ridiculously underpowered armor is when you get teabagged, even with a full bar's increase in armor, due to, what, a small increase in hull size? Finally, it sure would be nice to know if you have no intention of updating this game, cause if that's the case I won't hold out...
