Was there an update? I just logged back in and all my lasers are doing like 40 damage each. Don't know what happened. Kind of ruins the fun of the game.
I can't beat either of the planets with danger level 10. I've tried several configurations and nothing seems to work. I guess I made bad choices with my upgrades, but there doesn't seem to be any way to fix that now. Considering there is basically no strategy once you've launched the attack, I really think there should be more flexibility to rework your builds. Too hard to overcome bad upgrade picks.
I think the biggest flaw in honorable mode is that NPCs only attack the player with the highest territories. It would be better if they attacked anyone with more than 6 territories, with priority going to the player with the highest number. That way they still gang up on you, but they also seek to establish balance amongst themselves.
That might work. I tried a few variations and they were good but the current honorable was my favorite. I appear to be a bit out of touch with my target audience though, I haven't heard anything good about that mode yet :) It might be because games against the other two AI's don't last long but beating Honorable requires a lot of work: It takes me around 150 turns to win on the large map (about 15 minutes.) I've only beat it in under 100 turns on a large map once or twice.
Really needs an auto-sell option. If you're gonna let me keep my high level equipment on reset, I should never even see that bronze crap hit my inventory.
Just for example, I just researched Catnip Processing. It says it unlocks Catnip Enrichment, and that refining catnip should be more efficient. But I don't have any option to do something called "Catnip Enrichment" and my Process Catnip button still takes 100 catnip to produce 1 wood.
I don't really understand why when I research a new tech, the relevant building (or whatever) doesn't unlock right away. What is triggering the unlock and why doesn't it just show up when I get the tech?
I would prefer if we can keep playing our games or if there were one or two more tiers of difficulty. I see all these skills and upgrades and wish I could max them all out.
I'll add the option to continue playing in the next update, just don't delete your save and it should work. My only real reason for locking it at 75,000 was I felt there simply wasn't enough content to keep people interested, but I'll leave that up to you guys as the players to decide that. I do hope in the future after I've fixed all the little problems that have been mentioned so far, to add more content to the game so players can progress further.
Tips for other players: Ignore damage per second/damage per click entirely and prioritize saving coins for higher level units instead of upgrading the ones you have. The only combos that matter are the ones that improve gold gained and find item. Save ALL your diamonds to buy platinum chests. Bronze, silver or gold chests should just sit in your stash unopened forever.
Plus I don't understand how they balanced the cost for leveling ups for your units. Generally the upgrades cost way too much for the benefit that you get. The most efficient path after the first few units is to race to unlock the next unit, rather than wasting coins on upgrading the ones you have. Each new unit has much higher base coin production. You'd think the special upgrades every 25 levels would make it worth upgrading lower units, but almost all of those upgrades only impact damage, not coins. Damage is useless, so paying large amounts of coins for it is never going to pay for itself. So yeah, that's my 2 cents. Very surprised to see so many fundamental issues from a good dev like Toge. This like a good game at first, but the dev needs to go back to the drawing board if they want it to be worth playing long term.
Then you have the crazy diamond/artifact system. I assume they will eventually charge us money for diamonds, cause you get far too few diamonds to open the treasure chests they give you. The artifacts are mostly useless and upgrading them requires butt loads more artifacts. You can only combine after fully upgrading two of the same artifacts, which takes buttloads of lower level artifacts, which are difficult to get because you don't get enough diamonds. If the devs really wanted us to use these features, they'd get rid of the diamonds entirely and just let us open the treasure chests for free.
So I've played a fair amount over the last few days and I've decided that the dev doesn't really understand his game. Coin generation is the most important feature, but the game doesn't even tell you how much coins your units produce or how much upgrading will add. Almost all of the upgrades, skills and combos are directed at improving damage, not coins. But damage is completely irrelevant as a money-maker. It takes me about a minute to dig a new level and the coin reward is 1/6 of what I make in a single second from my units. Damage does get you artifacts, but almost all of the artifacts are geared towards damage too or geared towards skills almost all of which help damage.
I also think it's weird that nothing tells you the gold per second that the different units make. You make a lot more gold from that then from doing damage. That stat should be front and center.
Norma, for the first 10 units, I had a lot of success with:
First line: Dog, Mole, Archeologist, Opera, Supervisor
Second line: Excavator, Drill Machine, Driller, Subwoofer, Digger
Why can't I pay to refresh the time on my units? Why isn't there a button to rebuild the previous unit? Why isn't there an upgrade (maybe with an on/off toggle) that automatically rebuilds the unit for you? Why aren't there hot keys for the skills? Some of this stuff is pretty basic and I would have expected it from a serious dev like Toge.
Came back to see if you fixed the broken workers. Now they aren't game-breakingly powerful, but now they're worthlessly weak. The basic idle upgrades are at least 10x as efficient as the workers are and that's before you factor in the cost of upgrading the basic clicker. Needs a middle ground where they're actually worthwhile.
